Um something is wrong with this picture. 1 out of the 11 top dps in the pre-patch is melee. This is very messed up.

I’m normally pretty “lol prepatch balance,” but they should give the bottom melee a little boost since we have no idea how long it will last.
Because the rebalanced classes aren’t balanced around Azerites and Essensces. So basically just completely ignore ANY class rankings until we are 60.

dps rankings that take in azerite traits and essences don’t really count.

I get what you guys are saying, but we have a couple of months of this. So live with the terrible imbalance until then?

Nah, SL probably drop end of November, early December at the latest. Highly unlikely it will be delayed longer than that.
Besides, what does it matter? There is no progression at the moment. All the gear will be worthless as soon as the expansion drops.

None of those ranking matter fyi, it’s all based on unbalanced azerite traits that we won’t be using in SL and doesn’t take into account any Legendaries, soulbinds, covenant abilities etc…

It’s mostly due to other classes having it worse off without corruptions. It’s sad that is the only way WW’s can move up in the charts.
That said - this chart is mostly click bait, imo. Azerite traits, Azerite essences, non-max level scaling, lack of Covenant abilities / conduits…these are all reasons why we shouldn’t rely too heavily on the data.
Most of them aren’t balanced around the Shadowlands systems either lmao

Well yeah, hence the delay so they can do exactly that.
I care because I want my guildies and friends who are coming back to the game for SL to enjoy both ranged and melee. And not get frustrated at the lack of dps and just quit again.

I’d just tell them to work on practicing their class and learning the game and how it works. Run some Mythic+s to learn how affixes and everything work. Honestly if you aren’t like 95th percentile on parse or better, your spec isn’t what is limiting your DPS.
Wouldn’t the gear awarded in the pre-patch event render BFA gear useless?. Or did mythic + and raid gear will still be more powerful than early SL gear?.
Pre-patch…Say it with me…PRE…PATCH. The game is scaled and tuned for level 60. The meters and rankings now are not a indicator of what it will be like much later.
No. The prepatchel event gear is normal Nyalotha equivalent or whatever 100 ilvl is. So… it’s pretty trash.
Prepatch event is equal to heroic nyalotha iirc. Early SL gear will probably be higher. Doing anything for gear right now is kinda pointless, you do it for learning how to play your class in the content if you are new.
