1 Handed Gamer Struggling With Nameplates

Hi

I would like to know if there are any nameplate addons that highlight or add glow effects around enemy nameplates that do not have active dots on them (whilst in combat). For example, I dot 1 target with shadow word:pain, and it’ll highlight/glow another mob nameplate in that pack that is not affected by shadow word: pain.

I ask this as I have difficulty tab targeting, and do many things simultaneously with the one hand, and cannot always filter/click through every undotted monster.

If there are any other simple ways to filter through enemies other than tab targeting (which I struggle immensely with), or clicking specific mobs, or, addons that may help, please let me know.

Thank you!

thank you!

Heya I don’t know if it’s necessarily what you want but a disabled friend of mine uses Gnome Enhanced Sequencer.

It’s basically assistive technology to help you target and use your rotation. It is better with simple classes though.

So what I’m thinking in terms of strategy you could have a mouse button as a one button macro as setup in the video and set another button to replace tab.

People have made weakauras to mess with their nameplates, have you looked there?

Thanks for this, I will definitely watch this video and have a think.

The mouseover macros seem like this would help as long as you don’t have ‘stacking’ name plates as an option.

I’m extremely bad at weakauras, so I haven’t looked into weakaura options. Are you able to point me in the right direction, in terms of what I might be looking for? That would be fantastic

I use Plater, which has helped me immensely involving visual information. It takes a lot of time to set up, but once you do, it’s worth it. I would recommend that if you haven’t tried it yet.

I was initially going to recommend WeakAuras but I couldn’t find one that shows which mobs in front of the character in a cone of say 160* don’t have SW:P on them.

I’m sure it would be possible to program as a WA but I could only find ones that measure Shadow Word:Pain time on a selected target.

Thanks for having a look! Really appreciate all the help. How do I go about getting someone to program a WA like that??

I’m sorry plantshealu that’s one I don’t have the technical knowledge for. I mostly use it for various purposes for my character (deathstrike tracking, fingers of frost procs). :frowning:

That’s perfectly fine, thanks for taking the time to have a look

There’s a peripheral called Stinkyboard (that’s really the name lol) that you can use for gaming, it’s like a board that sits under your feet and it has different functions like you could keybind a target nearest enemy macro to your feet tilting to the right and it would cycle through the enemies in front of you each time you tilted right, keybind your interrupt to tilt forward perhaps?

Not specifically about the question you asked but i just thought i’d mention the product

Just looked into this, sadly they don’t sell it anymore.

Oh that’s a shame, maybe you could pick one up 2nd hand somewhere?

No luck. Thanks any way, appreciate your support!

Check on eBay saw one for 39.99

Threat Plates is the addon you are looking for. You can do pretty much anything to them.

I lowered the transparency of the plates I don’t have targeted, gave them a bold black border that turns white when targeted and made the plates thinner. That’s just a few things.

I’ve also seen some people put swirls around specific mobs like tentacles in pvp and explosive orbs in m+.

Threat Plates kinda does it all.

Hi, thanks for this. Can you point me to where I can find this in the addon settings?
