I’m… actually a bit stunned to read this. What’s wrong with that is that I don’t think Blizzard should be giving groups the tool to justify socially pressuring someone into not actually using their abilities. I’m not sure why player agency seems to matter right up until the point where someone actually wants to engage with the game.
This is not a point I’ll ever agree with.
The reason I’m concerned is because I don’t think that this is a niche scenario. I think the group most affected by this change is the largest group of the playerbase: mid-level casuals. I’ve run in a casual AOTC guild for the last seven years. Progging Heroic takes us time. I don’t want to ever be in a situation where I’m recommending to one of my raiders that they stop trying to play the game on their own and let the button handle it.
I think that depends on your class. I think casters will be much more affected by this than melee. And while I agree that the OBR will not completely differentiate skill differentials, it’s a pretty substantial change regardless and not one that I think is healthy for the game.
