I am at 5 trainning dummy spot in Valdraken
I take my Ret paladin and ONLY press Blade of justice and i make 700k dps for 5mn long. I only press Blade of justice, i dont spend my holy power. I press nothing else than Blade of justice. And i make 700k dps
I take my BM hunter and do my full rotation i spread Barbed shot, i use Bestial wrath, i use multi shot, kill command, Explosive shot, Bloodshed, kill shot, EVERYTHING and i make 680k dps
Yeah, even on the PVP side they’re nuts.
I did an Eye of the Storm yesterday and this Paladin would just walk to someone Blade of Justice them and they’ve be dead.
Well taking bloodshed means you used the wrong build for a pure aoe test. You’re data is also insanely small and hardly means anything. The hunter discord already has the sims and is aware of the state of bms aoe damage. It’s due to balancing and basilisk collar existing.
You gonna keep editing your post or what? Also who cares about keys this season, M+ exist to fill up vaults and gear for mythic raid, could care less about pushing keys, especially in a meme pre patch season

I was curious so I tried on my paladin in plain 476 gear. No gems, enchants, embellishments, tier set (Expurgation damage), or busted items like Augury. 250K dps. 700k on a much better geared character sounds feasible to me. It’s definitely broken in multiple ways.
Overtuned: the Crusader Strike + Judgement cleave talent (“Blessed Champion”), which works with Crusading Strikes replacing your auto attacks. Was 2 points for 50% cleave on 4 targets, now it’s 1 point for 75% cleave on 4 targets. Way too much aoe damage to pass up.
Bugged: the auto attack Blade of Justice reset talent (“Art of War”) is bugged, probably from the above making your Crusading Strikes “autos” hit 4 extra targets. I got over 100 resets when I should have got about 35. This is over half the autos granting a charge of Blade of Justice when it says 20% chance + 10% on crits. Maybe they’re giving 10% per crit? Even then I don’t think the math adds up, my crit chance isn’t that high.
Bugged: the aoe from Blade of Justice (“Blade of Vengeance” talent) is strong, but it also puts the dot (“Expurgation”) on all targets, which is clearly unintended because the new choice talent it’s competing against is for Divine Storm to spread Expurgation.
In addition to this, they changed Expurgation to carry over damage when reapplied, which could be considered a QoL redesign but it’s doing tons of damage with the above bugs.
Hopefully they fix these issues instead of nerfing Ret into the ground.
The talent also originally only modified Judgment. My BoJ resets don’t seem unsual. So idk if it’s bugged.
Edit: I tested it and Art of War is unintentionally rolling 5 times per swing. I did 750k just spamming BoJ and auto-attacks at 527 ilvl. This really needs fixed.
I’m not sure if I ever tested it, but I’m pretty sure it worked with Crusader Strike before. I was using 1 point in it. It’s just not as noticeable as extra hammers flying out with Judgment.
It used to just be a Judgment cleave. They added Crusader Strike to it in 11.0. This means they’re going to have to retune our AoE after they fix the bug. Fix the bug and take away Fyr’alath and our AoE might really suck.
keep in mind that nothing is balanced in prepatch, it’s all balanced for the next expansion at max level with full hero talents. there’s no point comparing specs right now aside from being able to say “haha yeah that’s crazy”
“It is pre-patch” should never be an excuse for the developers. Open beta to the entire player base when they drop pre-patch or make the entire pre-patch time free as an alternative or something.
Don’t introduce dumb shiit to people paying a monthly fee to play their game.
