I find it bs that I got to buy water walking for my new toons from nat paggle despite I grinded out the watet strider during mop. I don’t even know if I have rep with him as I’ve deleted a lot of my old mains since.
Just seems very redundant tbh

I have Water Walking as a Shaman, just getting the Anti-Daze one is great.
I heavily suggest Anti-Daze
It was set and forget until they removed barding as a consumable. Then I set a different mount equipment and forgot that, instead.
Personally, I’d rather have reason to put my water strider back on my bar for its situational use.
It was always weird to see that claim, because normally the only time I saw a strider was…when I was crossing water. I’m not sure I ever noticed anyone riding it around as a default mount, but to see people on the forums you’d think there were water striders everywhere.

Water is never an issue and if I do run into a wet area I have Surfboard+Travel Form combo.
Using the no daze equipment atm since I have other mount speed increase sources and Travel Form can still be dazed (It also doesn’t get any extra movement bonuses.)
Selfishly I do enjoy seeing a lot less waterstriders, now only the people who actually liked them ride them.

maybe I fish only what I need which is on Revendredth and I never see one in there fishing. Most of my fish were from bags I get thru Sanctum Upgrades. Getting tier 5 on Conservatory will never ever have me do fishing again. Even herbing.

and i’m saying that you’re not seeing people fish, because you’re either not looking, or not looking in the right places.
if people don’t fish, how did they get their fish finding ability, or mounts/pets which are only obtainable by fishing?

I always saw possibility with it. Like giving mounts some transmog options, tents and effects. Like what if there was a mount equipment that gave your mount a spectral effect or a red tent color like Blanchy has.
Eh, they should have left striders off the mount equipment list, but the fact that I can stomp across the seven seas in a longboi is pretty amazing.
You can’t lose logic against someone who thinks their personal anecdotes and feelings are factual statistics of the entire playerbase.

Yes, every one of my characters has a Comfortable Rider’s Barding cause daze is unbelievably annoying.

Just use the water walk boots. Never considered the other mount equipment at all. You can avoid getting dismounted 95% of the time, if you just pay attention to the surroundings, and don’t go blazing through an area packed with trash mobs.

Well, to be honest I wouldn’t mind a new option for the herbalism mount. But I get why it does not work with equipment and is not itself an equipment effect.
Put the water walking on mine that I got from having the bug mount and forgot about it. It could have been better, with being able to set different features on different types of mounts.
I don’t hate it, but it could have been better.
I’d be surprised if there were more than a handful of developers at this point

I’m glad they did something, I haven’t seen the water skimmer in ages. BfA needed some DDT, it was awful.
There’s a very proscribed logic for the mount equipment thus far. Unless you are Paladin or Death knight.
If you have access to a shield or have tank spec, it’s just extra +20% speed,
Otherwise it’s literally anti-daze barding for days.
