1/8m Raiders being 380+

Just wanted to start an intellectual conversation here and hear some of your guys thoughts on the current gearing system. Lets put this into perspective. I am an 8/8m raider that raids 3-4 days a week = 9-12 hrs of raiding a week. My Warlock is 385 equip. I’ve been raiding since the release of Uldir. I’ve also killed Mythic G’huun 4 times. This is great and should feel like an amazing accomplishment, unfortunatly G’huun gear drops are no higher ilvl then any of the other bosses in there, and better yet the trinket is the lowest simming dps trinket imaginable for Warlock all across the board. Just Imagine killing an end tier boss and being rewarded with a carrot and not even getting some ranch to dip your carrot in.

On the second hand lets talk about people that are lets say 2/8m. There walking around 380-385 ilvl as well. They can literally deplete a 10 each week, possible spend an hour in an Atal’ Dazar +10 with 42 deaths but they don’t care because come Tuesday there gonna get that big fat 380+ piece from there chest.

It almost feels as if I’m wasting my time Mythic raiding, as i am no more geared then these kids that are 2/8m. If I’m gonna raid 12+ hrs a week in mythic, I better be able to walk around Dazar’alor with these casuals inspecting me saying " Dang, I wish i could get that" but the funny thing is THEY CAN.

I Just cant fathom the fact that people doing the hardest content in the game are no better off then the people that log on for maybe an hour a day.

Lets hear your guys thoughts on this. All input is appreciated.

M+ the way to go. Should have figured that out week one of the expansion. Only raid if your in a guild you enjoy raiding with.

You can get 380 with keys lower than 5’s, LFR, and normal. If better gear is why you raid then you’re wasting your time.

Not that I disagree in the least bit with you, OP, it’s just what the game has become. It’s just one big slot machine to keep adding the hours played up.

This is absolutely the truth. With the absence of tier gear, the lack of amazing trinkets from raids, and the fact that Uldir traits are only good if you are inside Uldir, M+ is the new star of the show. There is no reason to raid beyond achievements and socializing.

This is what comes of Blizzard cutting costs and trying to make Mythic Dungeons into an E-sport.

If you’re raiding for gear alone then you’re wasting your time tbh, in a few weeks people running N BoD are going to be 385 too.

People raiding Normal and Heroic Uldir are 385 lets get real

Actually finishing content(on time) or accomplishing high ratings is where it’s at. Getting gear is easy now on purpose, to try and get more people doing content.

Show me someone who is ilvl 385 who is 0/8M.

Raids are only fun to do if with guild … otherwise you can avoid them altogether . You can get decent gear from dungeons , warfronts

I’m one of those players you’re referring to. I’ve got a bunch of TALOC and Mother kills and a couple of Zek kills and I have an overall item level of 386 … MOSTLY from Heroic warforges and M+.

I actually replaced several 385 Heroic pieces with the base item from Mythic just for the vanity of having the Mythic tag on my gear but I’d had essentially the same exact items for months.

It’s very stupid.

i’m stuck at 378 with 2/8M

you’d have to be pretty lucky on the titanforges for your story to hold the road.

Dude, this is an old argument. Let it die. Please.

Do you know how many M+ i have had to do? You killed mythic ghun 4 times. Ive killed countless mythic dungeon bosses. Does it make a difference?

challenged excepted

Imagine only having to rely on 4 other people, Then relying on the other 19 people in your group to kill the hardest content in the game currently.

This. I’m in the same boat. It’s a combination of the lack of drive (seriously, you come to raid with NO consumables of your own) of some raiders, the result of lesser performance in guilds that aren’t really CE worthy but are “trying” for it because their gear says they should, and the gear bloat pushing iLevel numbers higher and higher.

This is the direction the game has taken. The gap between the casual and the hardcore is decreasing by the patch. It is disheartening but it’s the way of the world [of Warcraft].

Figured someone would post this pretty fast. Is it bad for someone who did the work to want to be recognized for it?

Grass looks greener over there. I’m going to complain.

From my prepsective Mythic + is not casual. It requires a degree of work to make the groups and get up to that point. 42 death would equate to quite a long time from end to finish, probably in league with your raider time and we haven’t assumed how many of those groups fell apart in your 42 deaths.

I’m 7/8 Heroic. Literally did heroic once. and two normal boss kills. (look up Eizzok on Illidan for some reason my profile hasn’t caught up to my transfer).

I’m like 360. I have 2 385 azerite pieces and one 370.

The gearing in this game is a joke. Few more runs and some work quests and I’ll be as geared as you and I honestly won’t even need mythic.

My main came back in November and i’m 6/8M and 387 ilvl.

There’s challenge in the kills for the most part. But the reward is moot. Other than CE I honestly don’t even care about killing Gahuun… motivation to play this game is circling the drain fast.

Anthem (if it’s good) will more than likely replace wow for me. I sub monthly now so i can unsub at any point and not waste sub time not playing.
