1-60 speedrun world record holder banned on twitch

You guys remember Joana? He’s the guy responsible for the 1-60 leveling guides as well as the world record holder for fastest 1-60 in vanilla. Well… he was banned on twitch for broadcasting footage from his world record run in 2006. to be clear this footage is not from private servers, it is from the world record run in 2006.

It would appear that this was a manually reported DMCA claim made on behalf of blizzard entertainment. I figured i’d drop this here for visibility because this has to be some sort of oversight/mistake on behalf of blizzard.

It was probably right click report abuse.

Yeah, probably because it’s been reported one too many times for being “pserver gameplay” despite the fact that it’s footage from 2006. False reports are hurting Classic before it’s even come out.

Sounds like a whole lot of speculation to me.

However will classic be successful without a twitch channel of someone known for quickly trivializing content?

This is sadly becoming more and more common on Twitch and YouTube, and those sites tend to adopt a policy that protects their own backside first.

Though if you wanted it to be seen, I’m not sure that this forum is the best place for that even if it’s about Classic =P

Mods don’t pay the most amount of attention to us.

Most streamers don’t mention they play on them. He did multiple times in a video he streamed a couple of days ago.

It’s got to be the first time I’ve heard someone describe leveling as “trivializing content”. Not even the trolls on these forums have come up with that ridiculous term, kudos to you.

Leveling is trivial. Im not saying its not time consuming but it sure as hell isnt difficult or takes any level of skill.

The random character button trivializes character creation. Remove it immediatry

People broadcast private servers on Twitch all the time, Twitch even has seperate categories for each of the expansions.

He must of got banned for another reason.

It certainly is more difficult then leveling in retail

Twitch bans anyone that’s streaming on private servers. Plenty of streamers avoid bans by being small enough and by being unlisted (aka not being in any game or category on Twitch). Monkeynews and Payo both got temp banned from Twitch for streaming private servers.

False. There’s no categories for expansions. Only World of Warcraft itself.

If just saying that you play on private servers is enough to get your channel wiped, that’s pretty messed up. Hope Joana gets his channel back.

I love the irony.

Must have, or, must’ve. ‘Must of’ is phonetically similar, semantic nonsense that spell check will not catch. (This might matter some day.)

That’s what I was shooting for. Lol

Maybe its just me buy my care-o-meter for anything streaming related is permanently on 0. I’m boggled people would even watch this to begin with.

I will never, ever understand why anyone watches someone else play WoW.

Why do people watch other people golfing, driving race cars, running marathons, or even doing it?

I have no idea. Watching others do those activities is just as absurdly comical to me.
