Yes? There is no issue they fixed the leveling system already?
You can do whatever you want, and level. I don’t understand how you’d have a issue with that?
You want to be stuck in classic content for 60 meaningless levels only to get stuck in the first zone on each xpack and then be max level? for every character you make? forever?
The leveling is indeed too fast now. I will agree with that.
Trust me you don’t want it to change. IN FFXIV unless you boost your character level and its job level you have to play through all the expansion even though the story is good it take a long time to get to end game. FFXIV is not as bad as well when it comes it leveling as the story is pretty good and there is a lot of character development but not WoW.
The story does take a long time in FF but it’s a great story. My biggest complaint in FF is once you do the story, the only way to level another job is either grinding out dungeons the entire way or grinding one of the super long tower dungeons. Both are TERRIBLE.

Actually, even as someone who has played since 2008, I like your suggestion OP. 
I have to agree that the leveling experience from circa level 20 to 45 is extremely slow in comparison to getting to level 20 and from levels 45-60. As an extreme altoholic myself with 45-ish total toons (most of them hitting 60 this week, but I have 3 more toons between level 25 and 36), I see a marked difference in leveling speed, even with rested XP and heirlooms.
I honestly hate leveling alts and think some kind of streamlined scenario or set of scenarios that catch us up to current content and do it fast would be a great idea. Like some kind of bronze dragon training/ story time way of leveling.
Like idk for example your character is just automatically at the last expacs cap but you cant just leave or hearth out of the scenarios and must complete them all in order to use the toon.
I level jobs doing pvp and it’s great.
