I’m just looking for some sort of resolution to this. I know you guys came under attack so I know it’s not your fault, but I also know that many others can play and have been playing since. I’m just wondering what else can be wrong and is it on my end? I’ve restarted the network, I’ve restarted the computer, I’ve deleted the WTF folder… help. Thanks.
EDIT: I’m also running a scan and repair, will let you know if that solves the problem.
EDIT: Ran the scan and repair, said that no repair was needed. Still can’t get on.
EDIT: Seems like only downloading a VPN like I did or putting in these command strings into your Command Prompt will work
netsh int ipv4 set glob defaultcurhoplimit=128 <- for Windows
sudo sysctl net.ipv4.ip_default_ttl=128 <- For linux

Same here. Getting pretty aggravating

Same here. I can log in, but I get disconnected after selecting a server. Any server.

Hopefully this gets moved over to Tech Support for you. Unfortunately there’s not much CS can do to help with technical issues.
Edit: And here we are in Tech Support

I still cant login either. I can go to the realm selection screen and choose my server but after I do it just sits there and i get disconnected with an error code.

Honestly I’ve seen these posts everywhere and nothing seems to be resolved yet. Who knows if a different place helps. I’m not one of those that are going to scream for a refund or that crazy crap but I do want to play the game and this is annoying at the least.
EDIT: Looks like someone moved it already

I heard in another thread that they’ve blocked specific players in order to lighten the DDOS load.

Not sure why I would be blocked unless it’s completely random. Either way 1.5 days seems a bit much.

If you can’t get on, probably won’t until tomorrow morning when blizz does their maintenance. The ISP’s associated with the DDOS looks to have been blocked for now. Reason I say this, is I can’t connect unless I use a VPN. Was a little peeved this morning to see they still haven’t lifted it.
Using NordVPN, it’s been really reliable for situations just like this.

Crazy idea here but are any of you playing with a cell phone tethered for the internet connection? Thats what Im doing but didnt know if that could be an issue. I know some people can login and some cant. I dont know what on my end would cause me to be DC though after the realm selection.

That is very odd. Do you have a link to any proof individual players are blocked?
Unless their computer (or IP address) was part of the source of the DDOS attack, there is no reason to block people. Please note, most computers used in attacks are infected with malware and the user does not know about it.

Thank you and I will look into getting a VPN for situations just like this one.

I live in a neighborhood where AT&T DSL is the only broadband available, so using my phone’s 4G is the only way I can play anyway, and it’s not helping me get in.

I don’t have proof, only the speculation of another player.

Believe it or not I live in the sticks so my internet is glorified WIFI. I have a 40’ pole on the side of my house with 2 antennas pointing at a cell phone tower. That’s my internet. Works fine and I even stream but it’s definitely not the fastest around lol.

No, completely speculation. I’ve tried every computer on my home network and none work unless I hide the fact that I’m a verizon customer. Just assumed they had to temporarily block ISPs the DDOS was originating from… which I completely understand.

So you guys are using cell phone tethering to connect to the internet??? I am also using a tethered AT&T cell phone on 4g for my internet. Im wondering if we have just found the common problem.
Same, I live in the middle of a wheat field and the only internet I have is I barely have line of sight of a cell tower. Either that or satellite and never doing that until starlink comes out.

No I’m not using a cell phone to tether, I have a router that uses a sim card and is using a cell phone carrier but it’s not a tether or a hot spot so to speak. It’s what people that have RV’s use etc. It’s actually called Rural internet. Either way it doesn’t seem to be limited to one isp or one type of internet connection etc.

I’m having the same issue. I was able to connect until mostly everyone got disconnected yesterday and realms were going offline.
I think it might be account related since others are able to connect in my house using the exact same internet connection. I appear to be the only one still receiving this error here!
