0x12F microcode

the warning that talks about microcode 0x12F when starting wow , it came back today.
(i have the 0x12F microcode, fixed that a long time ago actually.)

whatsup with that.

i highly doubt my bios changed on its own so im gonna assume it’s some kind of dev mistake lol

*actually hwinfo 64 does report the microcode as 12B which was the old one.

Getting a warning myself about my bios not being updated after downloading this patch, yet everything worked just fine when I logged off last night…

I’m getting this as well =(

Unfortunately, me too!

Having a similar issue myself. Maybe some kind of issue with the update rolling out?

Also getting this error stating Bios Release date 12/04/2024 Microcode version 0x 12B while being on the June 2025 Bios for the Aorus Master X.

Might just be another Tuesday bug?

I also received this error. I checked and I am indeed running the 2801 version of my bios which was released in december of 2024. i guess i could update to the latest version but is that really necessary?

Same issue here. I Just fixed this not long ago. Why must I keep doing this every update it seems?

I would just ignore the pop-up warning. If you know you’ve already updated your bios then it’s fine. The new bios update which came out back in May I believe is called 0x12F and it says quote - “a limited number of reports regarding systems continuously running for multiple days with low-activity and lightly-threaded workloads.” so you are still fine honestly.

Getting the error, updated bios, made sure the changes were made… still getting the error.

Intel has released 4 patches for the Intel 13th and 14th generation issues:
Intel’s 1st patch, 0x125 (June 2024)
Intel’s 2nd patch, 0x129 (Aug 2024)
Intel’s 3rd patch, 0x12b (Sept 2024)
Intel’s 4th patch, 0x12f (Apr 2025)

Before the release of 11.2.5, WoW warned if you were missing the September 2024 patch or earlier.

With the release of 11.2.5, the WoW client now also warns if you are missing the April 2025 patch.

ok, thank you. I will update my bios this weekend.

Is there a way to disable this warning so we don’t get it every time? I updated my BIOS last year, not doing it again.

If my mb explodes, it explodes.

Ended up getting in touch with MSI support. Turns out I downloaded the wrong version (Seriously, putting the newest one in the middle between two old patches?!? wtf) and I got the correct version, repatched my bios and everything works fine. :+1:

Your board’s not going to explode, but your CPU may degrade, and result in more and more crashes and bluescreens that can only be fixed with a physical CPU swap.

I’m due for a PC upgrade in a year or so. I doubt WoW will degrade my CPU much til then, and if it does, I’ll just upgrade sooner.

Me too. I’m dying cause i can’t find the bios file for this. I have a Corsair One i500 and apparently Corsair has special bios files and they don’t have this latest one on their products page. I can’t play wow and its killing me.

so … which one is the RIGHT one… thanks

It depends on your motherboard. For me it was 7D98vC5. May not be the same for you. I opened a ticket with MSI support and they sent it to me. I would advise doing the same. Get your motherboard model number and open a ticket. They were quick too. I had the right one the next morning.

I have been on vacation since before 11.2.5 rolled out and have just returned and opened WoW for the first time only to see this message. I admittedly don’t understand anything about the backend of computers but if this BIOS update is so critical and not having it will potentially prematurely degrade your CPU why in the world doesn’t it happen automatically like so many other updates that are far less important?

It seems madness to have to rely on a random game client to warn you of something this consequential while the manufacturer does nothing. I am thus only left with two possible conclusions either this isn’t nearly as serious an issue as the pop up makes it out to be or Intel is in serious breach of their responsibilities.

P.S. The PC I am currently using is less than a year old and has never had any problems related to CPU or otherwise and has performed beautifully. So this is a real head scratcher.
