Same faction, I would let you fight the mobs, likely help you, then see if you were actually going for said node.

I would have done the same. It’s an open world resource. It does not belong to you until it is in your bags.

just channel your inner Flixter. Keep a list of people that piss you off, and specifically target them in all content.
If it’s a friendly faction, wait for raid night+DMF buff week and bop them during progression :P.
Charge them extra money, make sure you HR their items, dont include them in your groups, etc.

The special snowflake would be those that think they are entitled to things in an open world MMORPG. That’s not how the world works.
The special snowflake sees clearing nearby enemies as a necessary part of the process of picking the black lotus and another player taking advantage of said effort as theft.

and you know it is. now if it’s enemy faction then it’s fine and even encouraged. world pvp is awesome. but if you’re doing this to your own faction, you’re a complete jerk.

Not scummy at all. I expect this from people as it’s exactly what I’d do. I’ve done it to others plenty of times and people have done it to me. It happens.

In the OG days there weren’t Megaservers and your reputation mattered. There were consequences to such actions.

I steal nodes and chests all the time. It’s a pvp server and just because I can’t attack you doesn’t mean we are friendly.
