The Scarlet Empire is recruiting

“We are Guild focused on the concepts and ideals of the original Scarlet Crusade before the fall of the High Lord: Alexandros Mograine. With that said, we are NOT proclaiming to be ‘reformed’ Scarlets in that sense.”

“The races we accept among our ranks are the Humans, Kul Tiran, Dwarfs and High Elves. Every man or women who joins the Crusade will have to go through a sterilization process to ensure that prospective gain is free from the taint of the Scourge.”

The guild is in the process of rebuilding itself from a period of inactivity due to lack of content in the Battle for Azeroth expansion. With the release of Shadowlands in the horizon we are attempting to bolster our membership so that the guild can essentially start anew.

We are not a Hardcore RP guild. Guild chat and OOC content is still allowable. Though our RP style will focused around a table-top setting but, not limited to it. We have plans to Raid and PvP but, more on the casual basis than set raid teams.

If anything said has caught your interest or need more information I can be reached in-game via Whisper or in the WRA-D discord at Delmarick#1595.

“Long live the Crusade!”

I think I’ve seen this thread before.

Original thread was meant was for RP purposes. This one is straight to the point about us looking for others.

Are y’all aware of the connotations that particular cross symbol has?

They are just having some rp fun let them be and stop trying to connect dots that don’t exist

Oh, I think we all hope it is just Op claiming a cool looking symbol to make their guild recruitment titel pop, off-server poster from one of the most notorious servers,

At the same point, pointing out that that symbol might be accidentally giving fascists, racists and similar ilk the idea they’d be welcome in Malerious’s guild, especially considering the history of the Scarlets as a fascist, racial-supremacist group, isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

I feel like this is where we would disagree by pointing it out as a far reach you have made it a thing where as before it was nothing. Also keep in mind its just rp you can find seriously more messed up rp in wow but that shows nothing about what the person actually believes or thinks

Which cross?

Edit: oh wait you mean the ones in the title of the actual thread. I didn’t even notice that haha.

It’s a pretty generic crusader symbol, I’d argue. A Cross pattée to be exact. In the medieval era it was used by most crusader orders, with varying colours. A white cross would represent the Knights Hospitaller, which may be what they’re going for.

It’s currently in use in various forms by Germany, France, Georgia, Montenegro, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden and Ukraine as a part of their military symbology, coat of arms, or sometimes even flags!

I suspect what you’re alluding to, Azhaar, is the use of the cross by the Imperial German and later Third Reich’s German Wehrmacht during the World Wars? You’d be correct in suggesting that it was used in this manner - indeed, the Teutonic Cross is a mark of great significance for Germany as the first Duke of Prussia was also the last Grand Master of the Teutonic Order to hold territory in northeastern Europe (he actually converted to Protestantism during the Reformation days, and kept the land he’d been in charge of as leader of a Catholic military order. RIP). Prussia of course went on to grow and incorporate the Margraviate of Brandenburg and then later more and more of Germany until eventually its royal family became the leaders of the first truly united nation of “Germany”

This Cross, while used by the National Socialists, did not have National Socialist origins. It did not begin with the National Socialists, nor did it end with them (German Aircraft still bear the Iron Cross on the exterior today - it’s a German Military symbol that predates the Third Reich by centuries).

I wouldn’t suggest that this cross, which has origins and uses FAR beyond the Third Reich, should be viewed as a bad thing to be used by this guild. It’s clear that they’re simply playing on the “crusade” aspect of the Scarlet Crusade. I doubt they’re hiding secret National Socialist viewpoints or something.

To conclude; this is an entirely legitimate symbol that is used, without connotations, all over the world in the present day. It predated the Third Reich by a very long time, and will continue to be used without paying homage to that awful incarnation of Germany.

The cross in the thread title.

Yeah I realised after I made the reply haha. I hadn’t even noticed it. Edited my post accordingly.

I only mention it because there was a previous Scarlet guild on this server which was found to have a whole bunch of alt-right nonsense going on behind the scenes and also made heavy use of that symbol. OP might be coming in with a cool guild idea and accidentally tripping into some server history they weren’t aware of.

I’m a big “innocent until proven guilty” kinda person myself. If there is alt right stuff going on I’ll be the first to condemn it but I don’t want to have a crack at the use of a pretty common symbol just in case it might be national socialist, personally. Server history or no.

My foggy morning brain read this as “…grow and incorporate Margaritaville” and I was like wtf does this person think Jimmy Buffet had to do with German history? I really shouldn’t hit the forums until after my coffee has kicked in.

Why is it whenever anyone even vaguely gestures towards their right there is, within minutes, an on-call off-realm poster ready to raise sword and shield in their defense.

Is there a pager system I missed, is there one that summons WrA folks to other realm forums whenever they have the audacity to speak ill of our black dragon goth girlfriends because I am always ready to fight.

What ever that previous guild was, I am not condoling real-life racism, bigotry or any of such similar. So, if I am stepping on the toes of anyone who may have been impacted from this previous Scarlet incarnation I do apologies for that.

Yes, the symbol was used to be unique and to make the title of the post look as such. Though, as others stated the symbol was used in a number of “Crusader” orders in real life time which I think was the direct inspiration for the Scarlet Crusade during WoW’'s conception.

Oi lads, that’s a pretty ace guild idea! Fancy I could join? I’m a bard and the only surviving member of the infamous Blight Boar caravan fire!
