If this guy can be a Paladin, hell, the Grand Commander, then there’s no reason a forsaken can’t do it

I really do appreciate your more extensive explanation on the topic, because you’re not wrong! And I would be pretty upset myself if they did not actively acknowledge this very important part of the lore.
Undead paladins do exist, though, and from a playable standpoint? If we were going to have any ‘new’ paladins? I would want to see them expand on Calia’s lore, and introduce playable undead paladins as a process in which they were Lightforged to better make sense of this change in being, so that they wouldn’t exist in horrifying pain.
Otherwise, yes, those undead paladins that we see do ultimately represent beings who hold the Light in the throes of undeath, upholding insane and zealous faith with special circumstances.
It would be similarly less than viable to say that Void Elves shouldn’t exist because of how impossible it is to control the Void, but they did indeed find a way.
Lightforged undead do exist, in a variety of contexts (not just Calia, Odyn’s Val’kyr actually count as this as well), and where there’s a will, there’s a way - even through insane pain.
Don’t forget that Void Elves and Demon Hunters both are wrestling with constant pain, of another kind.
What if the Undead Paladins wielded and were infused with “darkness”. Have all of their spells and such be unholy. Have it be similar enough that you dont have to add an entirely new element but could give you a cooler look to consecration and other dark version of obviously holy abilities. Doubt it would happen that way but could at least look cool.

there doesn’t even need to be a different name for them like the Tauren or Zandalari paladins have.
the lore is already there, just have human paladins keep their faith in undeath, we’ve seen that with priests.
the only real argument against them is that paladins are “infused with the light rather than just channeling it”
so just make them penitents, nobly suffering for the light if you really need to have the distinction.
or just handwave it off cause it isn’t that important.
In Icecrown I believe there are undead paladins wandering around and they use the light to attack you as a player.
They use Unholy light! Which I have no clue what that is.
