Currently when players open collections tab they see 6 sub tabs, but What if there’s a 7th tab? Call this 7th tab “Try before you Buy” or whatever you like and in that tab all items will cost $10 each. This 7th tab will have 2 sub categories:
The first category will be for mounts. These mounts will come from a pool of dormant mounts that can no longer be obtained in the game or ultra-hard to get now due to player level. Some examples of such mounts include pvp mounts, AOTC mounts such as Kor’kron War Wolf from the raid Siege of Orgrimmar AOTC which was not offered during MoP remix, KSM mounts, Glory of the XYZ mounts such as Spawn of Galakras from Glory of the Orgrimmar Raider which was not offered during MoP remix, Molli mount, Fabious mount among a whole lot more.
The second category will be for mogs. These mogs will be from old raids and pvp. Some of these mogs can’t be obtained in game now while others can be, but players may wanna have them but rather not run raids/dungeons that are old.
The trick is to price these items at $10 each, and if a player wants to buy something they’ll have the option to try it for 15 minutes or they can buy it now, hence the name “Try before you Buy” I mean when you buy something you try it before you decide to buy it don’t you? There’s a condition though, players can try the mount or the mog in either Orgrimmar or Stormwind and they have 15 minutes to decide.
I know you like to take things slow and easy and don’t wanna break stuff, so for now just implement this tab with the 2 sub tabs and the mounts/mogs will be from Classic and Burrning Crusade expansion. I know most players have these items, but this is a soft release. Once you decide to open the flood gates and go full release, go all the way up to BfA. Always the current and the latest 2 expansions blocked. When Midnight is released, SL is unlocked and so on.
I’m not touching the shop or anything in it, all I’m doing is provide players a way to get dormant mounts that they can’t get for the most part and in return you make some cash. Old mogs will sell, I know that players on my server pay good gold for old mogs I did pay 75k once for an old mog. I tried to simplify this new idea without touching the shop and I hope it’s not a lot of work for you. In theory the mounts and mogs are already there you are just moving them to a new tab under the new sub tab and link it to a player’s card if they decide to buy. I can see some work to be done to implement the tryout portion, but I tried to limit the work for you by having the tryout being done only in Orgrimmar or Stormwind.
I hope you’ll like this idea better than older ones.
