“The Work of One’s Hands” is bugged across multiple computers & unable to continue questing

After only 30 minutes of playing at launch, I have been unable to continue since the story quest, “The Work of One’s Hands” is completely bugged for me.

I immediately noticed that the blue middle section of the status bar disappeared so I went to Wowhead to check on this issue.

Comments indicated that it could be an add-on conflict, so I turned off all of my add-ons, but the bug persisted, and since the middle bar is missing, I am not able to “hold the heat steady” and complete the quest.

After abandoning and retaking the quest countless times, I did the following, and nothing as worked:

  1. Deleted the WTF folder
  2. Deleted all add-ons
  3. Did the WoW repair tool
  4. Reinstalled WoW
  5. Installed WoW on my laptop and tried it on that computer
  6. Had a friend log into my account from their computer
  7. Had another friend log into my account from their computer
  8. Grouped up with a friend who was on the same quest
  9. Had a friend dual box my account and his account while on the same quest, and his character just stood there and got the completion, while my character remained bugged.
  10. Uninstalled Curseforge and renamed the Cache, Interface, and WTF folders to CacheOld, InterfaceOld, and WTFOld.

All together, I have tried to complete this quest on five different computers, three of which had been able to complete the quest on other accounts/characters other than mine.

I am literally unable to progress with questing while this bug persists.

Am I seriously the only one experiencing this bug to this extent? :frowning:

I was able to complete the quest on my druid: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/moon-guard/tikana

My priest is still completely bugged and the blue bar keeps disappearing.

After someone suggested looking at buffs and auras, I noticed that I would get a buff from the Eye of the Broodmother.

Clicked off the buff, and took off the trinket, and was finally able to complete the quest. I guess I am the only person who still uses that trinket :sweat_smile:

I litterally just had this exact thing happen to me and i tried all the things you did. Three different computers, reinstall the game, no addons, ect. THANK GOD I FOUND YOUR POST! I WAS WEARING THAT TRINKET…

Blizzard, the eye of the brood mother trinket is for some reason causing UI elements to break making it impossible to complete this quest. Please for the love of God fix it for the poor souls that are unaware like we were.
