I wonder if you could guild with and mail the other side. Really this is 99% why my characters are horde. So i can put them in a guild and share bank space.
Im often felt if VE Paladins were a thing, i would faction swap most if not all my characters. But if faction no longer mattered that would work as well and would swap just a few mains.

Entirely depends on how they did it.
I always advocate for factions to function how covenants do. You can only be in one, you can’t enter another’s place, but you can all group/guild/whatever together. Bonus points, you can have more than two. You can add more as the story demands.
Have a scarlet crusade faction that hates undead, and I guess forsaken characters couldn’t join. But hey, it wouldn’t matter since you could still “play” with a forsaken character to do dungeons etc.
The only weird sticking point is world PvP without factions. But at that point I just advocate free-for-all. If they’re not in your group, they’re red. No more relying on being on the populated faction as a crutch!
But we’ll have to wait and see if they address it, and if they do, how they do so.

Either make all servers a pvp server or remove the faction barrier. Because this in between is too boring.

Factions won’t get dissolved, most likely. At most, I believe you’ll be able to do cross faction PvE and be in the same guild. At the very least, I think they’ll severely gate how we can join groups for cross faction PvE.
What we do need is a server wide, cross faction bank for all of our characters on one server. The AH is cross faction. We need a bank to store anything and everything we want cross faction that all of our characters can access on that server.

Id be happy with that. Sharing supplies, crafting and gold is my main thing.

WarCraft has been basically telling the same story of, “factions are bad, there are more important things to fight than each other” since WC3. They’re a shackle forged out of tradition, nothing more.

What do you mean by “if” they said they will and i hope people are satisfied by it.
Probably
Gameplay wise removing factions is probably a healthy thing, or let us opt factions and switch
Lore was I think factions are good for war and stuff

Fixing factions:
WM off should not consider your faction at all
Instance pvp shouldn’t use faction, simply team colors assigned as needed
Make all races able to be in any faction
Allow people to change faction seasonally
Make WM flagging and unflagging a long channel cast that you can do anywhere
Add pvp objectives in the open world
For a factional game, WoW is seriously deficient in these areas. Current design is extremely limited and hamstringing and serves very little purpose. For all the lore deficiencies we’ve had lately, coming up with a reason to break down racial barriers in the factions should not be a challenge. Jaina and Thrall are already on speaking terms, who cares at this point?

Drop the faction barriers to epic bgs. Randomize the queue so horde can fight each other and it will drop their queues from 30+ minutes non bg week.
gold is gold. For orc, for dwarf. For fish, maybe not

this will also hurt incentives to play alliance and worsen faction imba.
If all they do is allow us to group with the other faction, it won’t help Alliance numbers at all. They need to allow guilds as well.

I can usually see what’s coming. It’s hard to read right now. They could start a whole new story and Alliance and Horde are friends and we work together like Final Fantasy.
Or they could rearrange which races are in the factions.
Or let certain races (or all races) choose their faction, because the factions can have different goals and ways of operating.
We could get a 3 or 4 faction world. Who knows? It’s up in the air. So, I’m trying to stay loose and be open-minded to anything.
