This shadowlands quest in particular has been bugged and I am going try what this particular bug does in this quest. First, when I have clicked on uther it brings me to a loading screen but when it’s done loading it kicks me out of the game and forcing me to relog and after I have relogged the game transfer me to arathi highlands. I don’t know how widespread this bug is but do please do an investigation on it. If this bug isn’t fixed I can’t move on nor progress forward.

Hi, I’ve got a workaround solution while this hopefully gets fixed: go and do the Zerath Mortis campaign until Uther appears there, and then come back and do He Was My Student. This allowed it to work for me, possibly because there is an NPC ID mismatch on Uther and once he spawns in Haven it fixes the error.
Figured I’d try your workaround since no one else’s had worked either. Got to that part of the ZM campaign and no luck, still get disconnected/spawn in Arathi on this quest

Having the same issue with the disconnect and free fall. I once got into the room with Arthas that I was supposed to be in, but there was nothing that would happen and had to exit. I hope this gets fixed soon and I can move on in the quest chain.
Having the same issues, free fall to die, 300g because had to take rez sickness due to graveyard on west side of mountains and corpse on east side of Arathi Highlands. Stuck on progress of Chains of Domination (which is next to last chapter) due to this bug

If you get bugged and go into freefall, just drop the quest and you will be ported back to the beginning of the quest, no need to die. Horde or Alliance, if you do land, maybe rez and go to SW the door will be closed and you can’t get in, so best to just drop quest when free falling. I am also still bugged. I tried dropping all quest, completing quests around, modifying config files and still no luck. I also completed all of of the ZM campaign.
My friends is having this issue she got the free fall thing 3x and then got into the memory but no dialogue happens and she can’t attack Arthas
This just happened to me 8/18/24. First and second try Arthas wasn’t attackable, also got kicked out of the game on my second try. The third time I fell through the world to the Hinterlands. Thank goodness for Goblin glider kits.
Edit: It finally worked on the fourth try!
