(Note - originally posted in bug-report, didn’t mean to put it there)
So I disconnect from game - but it doesn’t seem like it. Hence the “disconnecting”.
I can’t cast any spells, and everyone is either running in place or just casting continually.
CHAT works though - which is the oddest thing. I can chat with group, guild, /1, /2, etc.
In these tests the connection looks good until the ISP hands off the connection to Twelve99. The nodes in Twelve99’s network spike the latency up by over 100ms. Unfortunately, you’ll want to send the tests to the ISP and work with them on this.
K!
Latency spikes - what about packet loss?
Is there anything else I could provide to my ISP?
Also - would me using a VPN maybe fix my issue? VPN into a location my friends aren’t having this issue and thus avoid twelve 99?
EDIT - also noted there are 2 NA ips and I only used one. Should I do MRT with both?
I am having this identical issue and have a ticket in. There have been a couple other forum posts in here the last two weeks, but doesn’t seem to be any relevant blue responses.
It’s easy to just blame it on the ISP, but at this point multiple people are experiencing this issue.
Can confirm that the players can still chat in the world and appear to not be lagging on stream or over discord. Affected players show no other symptoms of deteriorated network condition other than being. Local and World ping both continue to be normal.
Issue has only started since the 10.2 patch for the players that Ive seen it affect.
There are multiple connections running at the same time when you play WoW. When this issue happens it means that your “world” connection has dropped, but your “home” connection remains connected. This post explains more about each connection:
Troubleshooting why your world connection (usually the one sending the most data) is dropping is what you should focus on. If it was caused by the patch then everyone would be experiencing it, and we’re not seeing anything like that. In most cases it ends up being a wi-fi, router issue, or ISP problem that causes the connection to drop out. Using a different connection may help avoid the problem if it is occurring along the route towards the server.
Pretty much everyone HAS been experiencing spikes at some point, (not sure if you all missed all the backlog posts on both EU and US forums complaining about this…) as well as a huge increase in overall latency constantly… Both EU AND US. I used to have 70ms US and 230 EU. Now it’s 150 US and 350 EU. I never had to use a VPN before just to keep my latency stable.
For a lot of us, this has been ongoing for 2 months now. Ever since the “maintenance.”
Also, why did ipv6 suddenly disappear around the exact same time? I used to be constantly connected to ipv6. Now I can’t remember the last time I saw it connected. Bit of a coincidence, no?
At this point we really shouldn’t expect Blizzard to do anything but shift blame and dodge responsibility. That’s kind of how they operate. Either way this has been happening to me for months so consider another voice joining the crowd.
But surely it’s on our end. Every single one of us.
this same thing has been happening to me, but my internet has just been going out randomly for the past 2-3 weeks so i figured it was just my isp had them come out this Sunday and check the lines etc they couldn’t find any issue. but yesterday i was getting this issue esp in raids i would randomly start getting higher ms and at some point, the game would lock up chat worked fine then i would have to alt f4 usually when that happens now i just stay loged out and go watch Netflix or youtube or w/e because it tends to happen again and again after that.
