All the mobility in the world don’t mean Jack squat when you can’t slow anybody else down and have literally no way to prevent yourself from being slowed, especially when most other class have ways of doing both.
Yet you can cheese flag carrying in ctf based bgs but their mobility is on the same level as you. Gotcha
Here’s a solution
How about instead of trying to stay on top of him, you move in the other direction. Use your incredible unhindered mobility to get to the other side of the map. Get out of combat and sit and eat while he makes his way back to you.
Roots also has a DR of 3. You have charges and stuns. You can easily stay on top of them if you REALLY tried.
You have 2 charges of Fel Rush, Vengeful Retreat, Fel Blade, Meta jump, and your glide allows you to move at 170% speed.
If you don’t like Fel Eruption as a 20 yard range stun, you also have Master of the Glaive available to you which turns your 30 yard range glaive throw into a slow with 2 charges on a short 9 sec CD.
You can’t really sit there and say that your mobility is garbage. I think maybe you’re just not as good as you think you are. You got yourself handed to you, and now you’re upset about it.
Are there other mobile classes? Of course. Mages, Druids, and Monks have always been slippery, but that doesn’t make you any less slippery. You still have the best mobility in the game.
Look in your talents my dude.
Stopped reading at running across the map to eat.
You can’t do that in Arenas you fool.
You can’t eat Mage food in arenas?
You’re out of your mind if you think anybody is going to give up their only ranged stun for a snare, every other class has it baseline.
Because every comp has a mage?
On top of that food now has a ramp up to heal. Stop being delusional.
Yep, va a warlock tanks this days
Why would a mage EVER queue with a DH?
Just because you don’t like the option doesn’t mean it isn’t available to you.
You’re not understanding the issue. Nice trolling. You get your sticker. Now get bent.
If you’re playing mage dh in arena, you have a whole lot of other problems.
Namely, you’re an idiot.
You create a very niche situation with one of the worst possible comps for a dh in some very poor attempt to justify your opinion.
I mean the idiocy is just compounding on itself.
I would say I been in arenas vs mages and oh boy! Trying to get them is hard
Demon hunter, the only melee in world of warcraft without a baseline snare effect.
insert picture of dh in roots with caption from blizzcon about unrivaled mobility
But, we are the most mobile…only class that comes close/beats us is monk with their 3-dash bs. We can cast throw glaives to slow, and that’s ranged, doesn’t have to be within melee. We’re not demonology warlocks, do NOT speak that evil upon us, Ricky Bobby.
No, if we were most mobile we would be out running druid in twin peak and wsg
Literally have to go remove magic or a single entangling roots completely shuts us down, hilarious.
I mean Windwalker has always been a more mobile class. Each has 3 mobility buttons but windwalker has a 4th with tigers lust that is a sprint and a root break plus the have one of the best spammable snares / roots in the game.
Access to good snares is part of mobility and most people forget that.
That being said DH absolutely has some of the best mobility in the game.
You also have to understand that as the game has gotten older it’s moved more and more away from solo pvp. 1v1 is absolutely beyond dead in this game so you can’t look at you vs a feral druid straight up because you will literally never win.
What you need to look at is how good your mobility is tied to the synergy of other people you’d be playing with in arena or a BG. If you get rooted out of line of dispel or freedom thats your own fault. It’s pretty obvious in 2’s when resto shaman want to bait you line of your healer to root you back there.
You have to understand the weaknesses of your class and play with other classes that compliment it. It’s why WW DH DH DK was so good in BFA because of how good the chains and WW snare complimented DH mobility. It’s also why Hpal DH is such a good comp.
Don’t judge the state of your class based on it’s own merits. The game is not designed to be played by yourself; when DH mobility is complimented with good snares from other classes and dispels / freedoms its a never ending death train.
I mean you’re not wrong here in that they are probably the weakest class in the game defensively. But Demon Hunter is far from unplayable and it actually a lot better than people pretend like it is.
It just isn’t the best. It’s not nearly as good as warrior or ret or WW (windwalker got a pretty sizable nerf recently, however). But don’t fall into the meta trap that people in this game fall in to where they pretend like just because something isn’t super broken that means it’s unplayable.
Demon Hunter has insane pressure at the moment. I promise you if you Q in to a good DH in twos’ you’ll actually want to rip your eyes out.
You just can’t play super aggro anymore. It’s a finesse class nowadays where you’re kiting a lot and are running most of the time.
