Account Compromised - Suspended - appeal wait time

Hello friends and family,

I opened a ticket to turnover an account suspension due to my WoW account being compromised; surprised that it’s now going to day 3 since my ticket has gotten any attention at all.

This seems like a high priority issue for blizzard as it’s a blocking issue (and i’ve spent a lot of money on this account and i’m planning on bringing in 3-4 people to spend more money) and a relatively quick and easy fix.

I’ve been away for awhihle, is this the new normal with Battle.net support? Seems a bit crazy and not a great business model, i’m literally being blocked from spending money right now.

Any help or assistance in this would be appreciated! At least an estimated time on how much longer i should wait before i can play again.

No, it is not normal. However, around pre-Wrath Classic patch, OW2 release, ban waves, account changes, DF release, the CS ticket system has been CRUSHED and overwhelmed.

Tickets were around 2 weeks, with specialist tickets at 40 days.

They are improving gradually and are around 5 days now I think. Maybe less in some cases.

If your ticket is in, then it should come up in queue soonish. If a Blue is around today they can verify your ticket numbers are properly submitted maybe.

Not looking for special treatment here, but any assistance is always appreciated! Getting pressure from the other people in the group to get rolling, start a guild, etc.

Shoot i’d toss someone some money for premium support if i could!

A couple of things to note, if you’ve been gone a while then there may be damage done that Blizz might not be able to undo. They’ll be able to get you back up and running again though.

Be sure to secure your account and your email address too. The hackers got your account info from you somehow.

Also, only as i do not recall seeing it mentioned, what category did you put the tickrt under.

Some queues are higher priority. Just want to make sure you are solid.

Perl, i understand completely, though i dumped a few years of work into those characters, it’s been YEARs since i’ve used them so i dont even know or care what i’m missing honestly. it’s really the massive friends list that i can’t remake at this point haha. I do appreciate you setting expecatations. account has since been secured.

If the compromise was very recent they should be able to recover everything. If it had been sometime in the past that could be a problem if it happened and logs might not still be around.

Honestly, the logs may have expired, and that’s okay.

This account has been around since WoW vanilla launched, i raided BC and beta tested WotLK, it’s really the history, names and friend list that i’m here for. really just the ability to log in again, create a new character with some old friends and enjoy the ride one, probably last, time.

If the logs expired then some of the original gear might not be able to get that stuff back. Friends list all depends if they deleted names or transferred anyone. So with out logs some of that stuff might be hard to figure out.

For all friends you can always ask on original realm forums and when classic was coming out they did make a forum that you could try to seek old old friends from your original realms. Might be possible to find old friends that way, Also possible people you played with in BC might be long gone. I know most of the people I played with back then are long gone.

Overall response times are improving, little by little. Compromise investigations are around 3-4 days at the moment.

Part of the compromise process is to address any possible violations that may have taken place while the account was compromised, but just in case, the appeal ticket you put in should help draw attention to it.

No, there is no way to escalate or move up in queue outside of just putting in a ticket under the correct category for your issue. Your compromise ticket is in the right category, that is likely the one to be addressed first.
