Final feedback on Rumble

I understand this probably won’t be read by the dev team, however, I’m leaving this final feedback of this game here in hopes that lessons will be learned for the next Blizzard IP mobile attempt.

  • The load times make attempting to play this game in a quick session painful. Add in the crashing and bugs that cause a full reload and it’s just not great. If this was not the case I could continue playing this game each day, but currently I’m just burnt out from the waiting.
  • The lag is bad. Placing a mini shouldn’t take more than a fraction of a second, especially in pve content. PVP is probably understandable if both players are lagging the same. PVE is just frustrating sometimes because it feels like every action in this game has a delay long enough that you can notice it. It’s pretty consistent. High end phones and incredible bandwidth do not solve the issue. I suspect bad architecture and code optimization.
  • Little to no communication from the dev team needs addressed. A live service game needs a good feedback loop. This is probably the worst one I’ve personally experienced.
  • The visual design is great. Warcraft IP on a mobile game of any kind is a win. I really like the minis and heros and maps and events from a look and feel.
  • The difficulty is nonsensical. Rethink the approach here. This isn’t WoW mythics or race to world first and never will be. Make a fun game that balances difficulty and reward. My biggest issue is you hit walls and must use Old Guardian builds to maybe win. Doesn’t matter if you pay to win because you can’t. I’ve spend a lot of money and beat all the content only to not be able to beat it next time due to something. There is no sense of progression of power. Minis don’t feel more powerful at a certain point because some talents are not great and levels stop being meaningful. A full army of max level minis should feel like you have an advantage, especially because of the cost to get that.
  • The rewards need adjusted or extended or something. At max level XP and stars rewards stop giving you anything. Literally nothing from dozens and dozens of rewards is terrible at best.

Anyways, good luck with the game. Make a StarCraft tower defense or something and I’ll give that a try.
