When I logged in this afternoon it seems as though the devs removed the dire bats, I’m assuming they released them in error. However, any leader I had that had them equipped has lost a unit slot not (down from 6 to only 5)and it was the 6th slot so not only is it missing but since I buffed it from the Molten Core raid I’ve also lost the boosts I had applied to that slot. I need my 6th slot back with any boosts (diamond and max boost from MC).
I also get an error when I try to move or swap units on those leaders saying “Failed to swap emote - something went wrong swapping your emote - try again”

This is currently a known side-effect of the hotfix put out today to address the Dire Bats. You should be able to select any mini from the army tab and swap INTO the now empty position once held by the Dire Bats instead of trying to select the black box to swap.
I saw those dire bats appears in the grid on wednesday Sept. 25. I bought the item as it was a new troop.
I remember seeing them in inventory of troop with the vulture graphic, but with a description of their own as a 2 costing unit.
Today, tuesday, Sept. 26, they are gone from inventory. However I am pretty sure the gold spent has not been refunded ! Its only 90g but still… !

The mini is not gone or removed. You still “own” it, it is just hidden at the moment. In the near future when it was supposed to be released it will be unhidden and you will have it back in the same state it was before the hotfix today.

Thanks for the clarification.
Another incident related to the new mini. Even though it is now hidden, as mentioned, probably because I “own” it. I had a book giving me an options of exp for that new “mini”. It was the vulture graphic, but the name and the ‘level up’ arrow was visible because I was a 64xx / 6500 and thus, the xp from the book was leveling it up.
Same issue happened to me. I was able to upgrade a couple times too. I wonder if they’ll ever make it right.

The error message is the same and the issue kind of similar but your workaround from this topic doesn’t work. I have tried the equip button from a mini in the bottom, as well as the swap button from the hero’s squad.
Same issue. My new Ysera team self populated with a Dire Bat slot which is unusable, so I now have two bosses with only 5 slots and you cannot swap any out without the “Failed to swap emote” error message. C’mon ABK!

I’ve encountered the same error message with both Ysera and Drakkisath: “Failed to swap emote.” This bug makes it impossible to change any mini in the deck, which also includes three copies of Frostwolf Shaman. I wonder if adding a “Remove Troop” button could resolve the issue.
I’m very curious to hear more about that as well, since the workaround hasn’t resolved my issue either. Given that it’s possible to make a slot empty, wouldn’t it make sense to add a button for players to manually clear a slot? It seems like that could address both this issue and the one you’re mentioning, rather than just the current one
