Working Features: LAN, SinglePlayer, ArrangedTeams, Classic with old keys

Comprehensive list of features that DO work for those who insist they don’t:

  • Single Player (Press “Log Out” ingame and you’re done)
  • LAN (Again just log out and LAN activates)
  • Arranged Teams (press the plus button right next to your portrait and invite your friend. Versus will now search with your team)
  • Change Region (Just select it above “Play” button in the Battlenet Laucher)
  • Team Colors Mode 3 works without issues
  • WC3 Classic (Make sure you tie your old keys to your account and you can play)
  • While no ladder the match system matches you with players of your same skill (And game ia full of new players enjoying the game!)

Side Note: Don’t let the hate dismotivate you from playing this awesome game

  • New graphics and animations look fantastic
  • Campaing has some really cool changes to the maps, cinematics and gameplay
  • UI is intuitive, feels smooth and include everything exept Clans (comming) and Ladder
  • Classic has improved features like team colors, cooldown times shown, intuitive helth bars, female death night and demon hunter. All this for free

If all this great changes don’t convince you worry not! Just install your old copy, update it only to 1.28 and play LAN online with software. You can play there with other not-convinced players

Hi :slight_smile: if you are good at new features, can you help? I can’t find anywhere how to start an additional company. I can separate it into maps and play, but I just can’t start it like that. And maybe you could answer how to save in maps? I just sometimes play offline and need to save. I already asked support, but they have so much more serious work now that I’m afraid they can’t answer soon. Thank you in advance for your help and sorry for my bad english.

WC3 Classic (Make sure you tie your old keys to your account and you can play)

wrong. servers are down, just some public test realm they forgot is still running somewhere, the moment u connect online, the game auto updates into new reforged bug mess.

LAN (Again just log out and LAN activates)

wrong: there is no LAN. Theres not even a menu of lobby for that, but if u wanna proof urself: connect ur laptop to PC and check for urself.

While no ladder the match system matches you with players of your same skill

Can you confirm that with any source whatsoever? I highly doubt it, got ~60games played, 55+ wins, not because im good, but because my enemys are completely new and there is no balance whatsoever in matchmaking. The games i lost, i got completely destroyed.

halfy wrong: single player runs in multiplayer framework, meaning you cant safe, cant pause, cant use cheat codes and all the other sp features.

New graphics and animations look fantastic

wrong,: animations do run on below 30FPS in an uncapped FPS game, makes it look horrible and stuttery. There are missing animations all over the place, most of the units have had +2 attack animations for example, those are gone as well as several others.

Campaign has some really cool changes to the maps, cinematics and gameplay

wrong: campaign misses lots of easter eggs and now since no more RoC balance is WAY to easy, especially RoC campaign…which was designed on Roc balance.
Some missions now even miss features completely.

UI is intuitive, feels smooth and include everything

are you fcking joking? even the chat is so broken it can not even autoscroll itself.

Classic has improved features like team colors

wrong. team colours are horribly to diversify now. If you want to know what REALLY are good quality of life features, watch WC3 Netease client:

thats how a “remaster” and a modern client should look like: desktop client, leaderboards, seasons, brackets, visible unit groups, keybinds menu, patch selection, tournaments, map creators get money, clans, live spectator mode into top ladder games from browser, unique exclusive player profile pictures for tournament winners, etc. etc. etc.

oh btw this client is 5(!!!) years old, completely free2play without microtransactions, has superb support from devs and basically is everything we could only dream about…

only sad thing: u need chinese ID passport to register there.

Unfortunately those 2 things you mention seem no not be working at the moment :frowning: I’m sure they will be fixed aoon! :smiley:

LAN works. Already tried it. I will post a photo tonight to prove it.

When I said Classic works I meant you can play with your classic keys in the new Laucher.

I repeat Team Colors Mode 3 works perfectly. (Mode 2 is currently buggy)

Yes in game animations are lower fps, like in many many many games. It isn’t bothering at all and helps performance.

And as I said before if you don’t like it go play in the old client on LAN simulated multiplayer like so many old games you can play that way.

Blizzard is not obliged to provide free servera (which cost money) for you. This 14 years of free online aervera where a privilege not a right. Go ask Empire Earth players

But can’t the owners of the old game play with those who have a new one? Depends what you mean by old, because it could mean two different versions of the game. To help sort it out, I’ll define:

Classic - Pre-Reforged
Classic - Reforged
Reforged

“Classic - Reforged” and “Reforged” are the current version and are in a single game client so they do support cross play.

“Classic - Pre-Reforged” is the old version and is now just single player because if one attempts to connect to Battlenet, it will upgrade to the current version.

that is, if anyone had an «Classic - Pre-Reforged», then when you enter the license key in the launcher, it will be updated to a «Classic - Reforged» but without the ability to switch to a new graphic?

I have a copy of 1.30 and it didn’t update when I put the keys in. When the game launched, there was a popup saying that there’s an update and it gave the choice to upgrade of not. I’ve been clicking No each time.

There’s been lots of reports of other versions behaving similarly. 1.27 and 1.28 that I’ve seen so far.

Exactly Rage! That’s exactly what it means :smiley: If you use your old keys you will be able to play with reforged players and improved features. The only thing you won’t have are the new graphics and new campaign. Enjoy!

Are you kidding? I see no LAN menu. Please don’t tell me I need to go ONLINE and then OFFLINE - that’s NOT LAN. The original (much better) game had everything simple and usable. Cross-region should work WITHOUT having to change regions. No ladder is a game breaker. How can you charge people 30-40 USD for this dumpster fire? I PRE-ORDERED during Blizzcon 2018. Don’t tell me that this utter disgrace is great. It’s NOT.
I would gladly pay 40 Euro again should the features they promised (and advertised) would work. Hell, I’d pay 50 Euros, without thinking.
For this garbage, I’d pay max 5 Euro. That’s it.

EDIT: By the way regions had to be selected in the old Warcraft 3 too. I believe they made it available so that people could link their classic accounts (Which were region dependant)

Yeah, no. I’ll believe it when I see “LAN” option in the game. I’ll never support Blizzard again. No LAN, no buy.

thx for hint About offline mode, i thought u can only Play Campaign offline but u can Play skirmish offline as well, just for some reason i still have a ping shown but is much lower as usually so doesnt matter, if u go offline and Clock private Network it download some app called “bonjour”, then u can Play any map with almost no ping, is a big deal because if i Play online against ai I STILL have usual ping spikes and offline is a better experience
