I tried to upload the map for hosting on one of those gaming sites, and they refused, saying the map was invalid.
It runs just fine on bnet every day. I’ve been updating the map every few hours for the past 4 days.

You would need to contact the administrator of the fan site to figure out the issue. Most fan sites will also include either contact information or forums you may post on to gain clarification.
You could also post about this issue on our map forums Here they may also be able to provide insight. This isn’t really a technical issue that support can assist with thus I’m going to lock this thread.
