My computer isn’t the greatest but it should be able to handle this main menu at 40+ fps. I have to downsize the resolution to 800 x 600 to get it to run at 60fps. My comp can run BfA pretty smoothly so I don’t know why this thing is such a system hog.
Also, any chance the UI can be redone? The font is pretty awful and the windows don’t fill the screen. The chat box is in a weird place and clashes with the main windows.

Part of why I refunded actually

Look for “Blizzard Browser” there are tons of posts about it.
It is laggy because the interface has been probably made by the webdesigner cousin of some of the developers… or by his dog.^^
It is so poorly programmed that it has reached a new level of unoptimization that should be thought in schools.
Oh, by the way, you need a bugged process of several hundreds megabyte for each silly window that slide on your screen.
And no, they are not going to fix it or even talk about it…
Just be glad that at least the chat scrolls now…^^
Last note: if you kill the processes they automagically restart covering your game window, so, no, no way you can rid of them.^^

Didn’t know about this “blizzard browser”. Your post confirms yet again another massive disappointment with this game. How can they treat WC3 in such a negative manner? Literally everything about the game is unfinished. I don’t understand why it is in such a sorry state

It’s programmed poorly, but the web language tools they used isn’t the problem. Same tools Discord, Slack, Teams, and lots of other programs are made out of these days.

Where did you hear that their not going to fix it? They can’t leave it the way it is.

It’s been like this since beta so more than 6 months and they never acknowledged this as an issue. They prefer to focus on footsteps.

Because menu is Google Chrome now
When they finish with the first mistakes. You have to start incisitr with all the other mistakes.
Also missing the reinforced campaign, several models are missing and the Skins. And I assure more things that I lack.

Is it actually running at a low frame rate? Just because something looks like it is low frame rate does not mean it actually is. For example if it is a video being played it may only show at 30 FPS even if the menu is running at 200 FPS.
It lags for 1 second or more every single time you move the mouse or click something. That’s not low frame rate. That’s a pity to look at. A normal 3D WebGL page is flawless compared to this. I have no problem with any other software. Just this.

Yep we have the same. Only it takes me a long time apart to open windows.
For my part, I will wait for the patch to be fixed.

Unable to recreate this issue. I cycled through all the menus that classic licence allows and could not observe any noticeable frame drops.
Is Warcraft III installed on a SSD or HDD? I am running off a SSD so asset stalls are very short. Due to the high resolution assets and bad random access performance of HDDs it is possible they might cause the menu to stutter more.
Also make sure it is not connection related. The menu might freeze if the client is unable to communicate with Blizzard reliably when playing in online mode.
Same for me,
main menu freezes for 3 up to 5 seconds at every single action on the user interface.
W3R installed on Intel SSD hard drive, Intel Core i7 3632QM and 16GB of RAM installed.
I have Windows 7 with latest patch installed (05/2020), I know it’s an old operating system, but officially supported in the requirements…
It’s continuous so it is not HD related, the assets are all already loaded, unless it keeps loading assets continuously (but I doubt so).
About the connection, it seems to be fine for all the other Blizzard games or the Battlenet ineterface itself, so mu best guess until now is the layered transparency, since it’s not just 1 process…
Of course they can.
Why not ? They already have the money of people who are OK with the state of Reforged and will never get the money of people who play classic. So why fix anything ?

The same thing that happened to Blizzard Entertainment.

If you have both integrated GPU (from Intel CPU for example) and external GPU, see if you can deactivate the integrated one. It is known issue that for some weird reason integrated GPU will lag the menus.
As for the UI, they’re looking for UI designer currently, so it may be improved in future but I doubt it will be in near future.
