I haven’t bought the game yet, although I am looking forward for it, I also took the time to read about other people’s impression of the release.
Most of the topics here are flaming on blizzard, and a lot of comments seem to be driven by wrong impressions, for example, some people thought this would be “Warcraft 4” and include new campaign mission, races and other things like this, which is not what a remaster is about.
Before I buy the game, I want an honest impression from people who actually took their time to play the game.
What was promised in the remaster:

I would like to know, if any of the above are true to the release, I understand there are some issues with multplayer and custom-games, and though I do not care much about the multiplayer experience (I only play the single-player campaign), for some people it is kind of a big deal.
From my point of view, what matters is the single-player experience, and the reason I made this thread, did the remaster not deliver what was promised?

This is not a reforge, this is a remaster. New mordels are good near, but animations are worse than the original.

I’m not mad at all. Sure the game is buggy and rough around the edges, but it will be fine in a few months.

Ive also checked some streams, and it looks totally fine, looks exactly like the original with new shaders…but I can’t take a decision based on a stream alone

It’s safe to say your mileage will vary. I’ve had some bugs and issues getting things working. Custom campaigns aren’t in game whatsoever. I doubt there are 4 hours of cutscenes altered or “made better”. Some maps are definitely different, such as Culling. Thus far I also noticed some positive changes but I am not sure they outweigh the negatives. They just hotfixed or did something to make custom games “work” but I have yet to try them so I cannot really speak on that. Your list of promises is missing some other things they said we were gonna get and did not, so, when you ask “why are people mad” you should consider reading some posts to educate yourself on what has people angry. You might really enjoy the game, but as you can see, others do not.

I don’t know who are you talking about. I’m just stating facts. The Original had patches from 2002 to 2019.
Have you seen the 2018 presentation? Forget about it, you will get another game.

Finnaly some good feedback, thank you, I’ve heard about the change they did to the “culling of stratholme” and I was interested in that as well.
The promises I copy pasted were from the main war3 reforged site, I’m not sure what other promises the devs made, since I don’t follow them closely as other people may…the main problem is, some other “documented” people, state their anger with blizzard, saying things like: " they did not keep their promise" but they don’t even say what they promised in the first place, while other people are angry there are no new campaigns or races, so I am a little lost here, and can’t take people seriously.
So you are saying there are some bugs, which I belive they will probably iron out sometime.
Another thing I keep seeing is about buggy animations, and that they are really bad…how bad are they? is it really that bad as people make it out to be?

People are mad because pretending to be pissed about cut-scenes is the edgy take to have this month.

They did not “reMAKE” anything, they “reSKINNED” the old game, and for what ever reason, it’s 26 GB to take up space, over-writing the original WC3 install, from what I’ve been reading.
Nothing, from the 2018 Blizzcon, is here. It’s just the old game, re-skinned.

Honestly a lot of what is going on has to do with your setup. I fiddled with my settings to the point where I can comfortably watch a cutscene without any glitchy animations, the mouth movements are stiff, but precise. Otherwise the portraits look kinda lifeless—other than that though I don’t notice anything really “bad” and am enjoying the campaign (for now).
In terms of promises, I think they refer to the BlizzCon panels where the devs hyped up the game, so that would be where I would look if you’re curious.
That was what was announced at Blizzcon in 2018. What the hell did you people THINK it was gonna be other than a graphical update?? “The old game reskinned” is, was, and always will be what Reforged was doing. It’s straight up gaslighting to pretend otherwise.

They said new graphics from the ground up which clearly the game doesn’t have. New reforged campaign mode. which doesn’t exist its the same campaign. The ui looks from 1999 and the whole game is really buggy/laggy even on 4k. You have to manually scroll down when there’s a new chat msg. They promised “brand new game balancing” like they were going to rework the animations/skills. They said classic will left alone and reforged will be a totally new client. Theres plenty more i missed.go find some old articles or look at blizzcon and compare. Its like watching a really good trailer for a movie, then watching said movie and its nothing like the trailor portrays it as.

I’m annoyed about a fair number of things.
I’m enjoying a great number of details in the campaign.
I’m MAD about precisely one thing: I can’t play Custom Campaigns. There’s no way to access them in the Reforged Client. Unless someone pipes up and shows us how to do it, that’s what’s making me Mad.
