Every time you patch you kill our saves…how stupid is that? Weeks of playing a campaign gone. You don’t actually want people playing this game? I see the generally accepted description of Blizzard being incompetent is sadly accurate. Too bad.

thats just a save game… your progress is intact. It brakes saves bcz they do changes to maps / cutscenes which are thus incompatible with what was saved into your save file. Sure they can probably write a script which would correct this but thats time consuming and pointless in this short time window with limited manpower they have.

The saved games have been rendered invalid, yes, and so far, there’s no getting them back. However, players can try backing up their campaign progress so that it’s not lost as well:

With the recent patches seemingly resetting all campaign progress, and several reports of progress being lost after a game crash, it might be helpful to periodically back up the files that store the campaign information. Patches have no affect on campaign progress. It simply makes save files incompatible meaning anyone currently in a campaign mission will need to start just that mission over.
