This makes zero sense. Players are now allowed to form teams of 2 and 3 and then queue for the 4v4 random team ladder. Why? This was NEVER like this in Warcraft 3. It ruins this already cartoonish game mode by turning it into a complete stomp.
There is plenty of people playing the noob circus of 4v4 RT. If players want to AT, they should be queued in the AT ladder. Simple as that. If you ruin 4s RT then im done with this game forever. I dont have the nerve to try and micro again after 15 years in 1v1.
Way to take a simple and winning formula and ruin so many things about it needlessly.
The simple answer is search times. Players dont want to wait long periods of time to play a game, I sure as hell dont and along with many others.
Beyond that no one is gonna care if you leave this game to never comeback, empty threats fall on deaf ears. Blizzard is dead and Activision wont care since they got their money from other people already.
If they do separate the two, and they could, it would kill the game in the long run for casuals.
You got it backwards, I actually quit playing already because 2v2,3v3,4v4 had to many premades vs randos just like hots. I am not interested in a pub stomp game so ya.
“casuals” as you said dont want to take the time to find people online to play with so they click 2v2 3v3 4v4 to play a quick fun game and try hard try to find better players to stomp them.
I’m really angry of arranged teams and random teams are in the same pool. It makes game absolutely unfair and boring. It’s one of the most critical problems in multiplayer at the moment. I don’t mind waiting longer, I just want good fair game with good ping
Something I learned a long time ago…if 1on1 bores you, make friends. HoTS is unplayable for me because every QM or Ranked I have at least one PUG that goes 0-12. I remember CoD MW2 where when I played without my friends online i’d lose 100% of my games even though i’d go 15-2 in TDM. Make friends, when my brother was online we’d win 100% of our games.
RT has a long tradition in wc3, them removing it would of been like removing 1v1 from the game.
There were many top AT players who were also RT players, and liked the division between the two modes because they tested two completely different skillsets. It isn’t because we have no friends. The only real reason 4’s RT had such a healthy scene throughout the entirety of wc3’s lifespan is because the fundamental nature of RANDOM TEAMs works extremely well. It’s why people wanted solo queue so badly early in Dota 2’s lifespan, the ability to stack vs teams of solo players leads always to lopsided matches.
Atleast if Blizzard lets this retarded change stand, give us the ability to see who is teamed up with who on the other team like every other bad game that allows RT vs AT. Because right now you CAN and WILL get hit with cheese strats that you could see coming if the loadscreen told you if you were facing a 4 stack.
AT vs RT would be fair to some extent if the MMR system was actually working. The arranged teams would meet each other very often since they would be high MMR. And say a 3k MMR at faces a 3k MMR RT it is a lot more reasonable than 3k team vs 1000 RT
And the fact of the matter is, under the current system, no RT player is going to reach 3k MMR. The problem is not just only RT vs AT, theres also Duos vs 4 stacks, 3 Stacks vs 4 stacks, 3 stacks vs duos, duo and duo vs 4 stack.
It’s not going to work out. They need to revert the change.
4v4rt was the most popular gametype before reforged, and now we have reforged players, and global matchmaking.
Regular stomps for 4v4 rt player is going to make a lot of people quit. It made me quit Sc2 anyways. I was fed off to be matched vs high win% arranged teams because I was a successful master league player.
4v4 AT not finding games fast is never going to kill the playebase however. Nor is 2 friends forced to play 2v2 AT instead of 4v4RT.
RT vs AT in SC2 is complete garbage. 2xsilver/gold/diamond RT team vs a full masters AT team is common. Wc3 doesnt have anywhere near the playerbase of SC2, so it won’t be better.
Why do we even need AT vs RT? This game never had it and RT did fine. 2v2 and 3v3 AT will always be fine with global matchmaking, 4v4 AT might suffer a bit but if it means RT keeps it’s integrity then so be it.
Don’t worry after you guys are done stomping all the RT players to oblivion, your search times will increase even though blizz turned global MM on.
People think the better search times are due to RT vs AT when it isn’t. It’s global MM, and the fact that Reforged is a new release.
Once things quiet down, and people realize what’s going on with the team modes or just quit the game, search times will increase for everybody. Why? Because when you introduce variables like different group sizes queuing for the same mode, it requires a lot more work for the MM to put balanced matches together. You see this even in OW with a large playerbase, when me and my top 500 friends queue together at non peak hours we have extremely long queue times. This means that people queueing as 4 will be unlikely to get 4v4 matches in the future, unless the matchmaker intentionally screws over lower level RT teams. So essentially NOBODY wins. If Blizzard wanted to make sure the AT modes don’t die, they should of had exclusive AT win portraits or game mode specific rewards like skins, all this current change is going to accomplish is kill both communities.
I’m not biased vs AT as well, this is coming from someone who had multiple 90% win-rate teams, knew the struggle of having to loss-abuse to lower ELO to find games, understand AT at a high level. TBH I’m probably considered more of an AT player than an RT player. The fact of the matter is, that the two styles of queueing are literally different games, and mixing them is recipe for disaster. It’s the entire reason I have refused to play AT in Reforged.
The option is there for those who want to use It. If you don’t want to use It, DON’T USE IT. It’s so simple. If you have a friend and want to play on 4x4 games with him, you can do It, If you want just 2x2 games with him, you can also do It. Seriously why such simple logic is so hard for your mind to comprehend?
This will be the nr.1 issue that will kill the game. It’s not the disconnects, desynchs, bad graphics, no cinematics etc. but the simple fact that blizzard allows arranged teams, with all the overwhelming advantages that it brings, to literally s!ht on random teams.
These ATs often have win ratios of 95%+, which is better than Pro gamers (i.e. Grubby, Moon) or Russian map hackers in olde wc3 (80%win rate). They AT guys have similar win rates compared to drop hackers (99% win rate).
3v3 and 4v4 are a casual, chill environment. It is NOT where tryhards should go to feel good about themselves. Killing the casual scene will be the final death sentence of this game. Save the casuals to save wc3.
