What we know:
How long were they working on Reforged though? Are they still working on Reforged? Is it a team? Or is it the remnants of the previous team’s work that just got pushed as someone stumbled over the data during cleanup?
My version is the game is now possessed and became self-aware, and is patching itself the way it wants.
But in actuality VV probably sent a couple of doods to oversee the ruins just in case.
As I asked also in the PTR post, isn’t it weird that the comments on the patch are so familiar with previous changes and everything? I think this patch might have been ready before the team was fired, and they just delayed the delivery to fill the time while a potential new team sets in.
I’m hoping we get staff from the former VV studio. They’ve done good work for many years and I’d bet they could add some polish to Reforged, if given the resources and time.
…Or maybe some of the team members might still be working on it? Some of the Devs haven’t been fired and are still around Blizzard. It’s possible they’re assigned to some parts on Dibs remake and tend to WC 3.

There is a small glimmer of hope. I thought Blizzard had abandoned WC3R entirely.
If there was a W3 team more then like 3 people updates would have been far more frequent.
It helped a little when they said they’re still working on Reforged in the PTR patch notes. However, balance and development are almost always different teams (there can be some overlap).
So it’s possible the balance team wasn’t part of the dissolution of Team 1. Due to that possibilty, I’m staying skeptical. This is a balance patch announcement, not a content patch announcement.
