When Will they Respond?

Okay go ahead. Give me your best guess. I’m thinking this coming week.

And another apology in the next Blizzcon.

Realistically? Once they have an actual game plan for patching things. Once they have something substantial they can show.

Probably within the coming week, but only time will tell.

Hopefully they scrap the game.

What does it matter?
It’s Blizzard we are talking about. The chance they will Remake W3 the way it deserves is less than 0.1%

My guess is they’ll just put out a patch fixing some bugs and adding a feature or two but they will never actually apologize or even acknowledge the problems. Well, not until next Blizzcon anyway when J Allen Incompetent gives another fake apology.

Usually it’s after they’ve assessed everything and have something worth communicating. If it follows the suit of their other games, usually at the 7-14 day mark. But since each development team governs itself, it ultimately just comes down to if/when they want to.

The problem with that assessment is that “deserves” is subjective. Some believe it deserved to have at least what the old game had. Some believe it deserved the new voice acting, some believe that it deserved a new game engine. Undoubtedly, there were expectations even way above those that weren’t even feasible for a game that was just getting updated.

My guess is they’re hard at work and released this early as a gift and there will be a patch with the reworked cutscenes. I think they underestimated how popular the campaign was going to be.

I’ll just say that I seriously hope so. But, they will need to 180 their decision to side with the those who didn’t want nostalgia ruined; that’s a big uphill battle. If they do, it won’t help matters much seeing it will appease many, but also upset the other side of the fence just as much. No net change.

They should respond both immediately, perhaps with a Q&A, then later with a plan.

All the things you said are perfectly feasible. Although they would have to charge more than 30$, but fine by me. I’d pay 60$ for a polished remake without cut content + some extra things added + without “we own your custom maps” communist bullsht.

I’ll be surprised if Blizzard does the bare minimum to make this game slightly better than the original.

They will not apologize for anything officially. They don’t listen to fans.

I’m skeptical too. But only because they have been so silent about so much. If they at least popped in one in a while to let us know they are there, I’d have more faith.

As for the we own your maps thing, that’s just them protecting their IP. They lost an unimaginable amount of capital when a game created on their platform was taken away and claimed by another company. And because Bliz lost the legal battle to reclaim it based off the EULA at the time, they’ve now changed the EULA’s wording to protect themselves.

The massive cuts in the campaign content were due to the fans, setcho.

EDIT: So far I’ve been challenged on this twice. Before replying, read down to where I cite a source. One that was the very first hit on Google. It breaks the timeline down and names names within.

Some might think that the old game at least deserves to have what the old game originally had… unlike now.

where are you getting this information that isnt true? Why are you spreading false information? There is nothing to prove this.

Exactly! One of several possible beliefs. And a legit one in my mind.

Likely after the board decides on whose scalp they claim.

They didn’t lose anything because it wasn’t theirs in the first place. The same way Microsoft won’t get any money if you write a best-selling book using MS Word.

Sorry, but there is no other way around this. If it’s valid for their editor then it’s valid for any software that lets you develop a work of art. Which is, plainly speaking, pure BS no matter how many crafty words one uses to make it sound fair.

Plus they were approached and asked to invest in that game at that time, and they refused.

That’s what they want you to believe. The real reason is that they could not do it in time.

It’s one thing to say, “hey, where did you find that?” in an inquisitive sort of way. But it’s laughable to follow it up with such definitive certainty that it’s unilaterally wrong. I mean, could it be possible that you missed something Bliz said about Reforged? Could it possible that the one posting may have actually gotten their information from a published source? No, not with your types. If it counters your fervid anti-Bliz position, you make it not true in your head.

So, after Blizcon 2018 were the demo of was featured, there was an infux of feedback that the new voice acting subtracted from the nostalgia. After Bizzcon 2019, articles from interviews at the convention started getting published that described this very thing.

First hit on Google, Whiplash. The day after Blizzcon.
