Listen, I really want to preorder, like really bad. But i withhold to do it without seeing or hearing more news.
obviously there are no issues regarding the lay-offs since its outsourcing in the customer support staff and reinvigorating the developers with new blood.
And the fact that the pre-order is still available on playwarcraft3. com
But its been 3,5 months since the announcement. There has been NOTHING.
Absolutely no news whatsoever regarding Reforged itself, excepting balance changes but thats not related to this issue. March 2nd is coming fast and then it will be 4 months.
So either, we are gonna get a drop of info regarding NE and UD at once, or we are getting slow info coming in from April.
Just give us something, screenshots of UD? UD buildings? Thrall, DK arthas.
This is not a whine, I am just really excited by the prospect of Reforged.
But this lack of info is really killing my buzz atm.
I did pre-purchase and I too donât like to wait but its just how it is. They will give us something when they got something. Meanwhile keep your cool and be patient
Why? How people donât like it to just double click on Warcraft 3 shortcut to open the game? Why make it more complicated with an useless launcher ? I donât get it
Lets wait new patch and new editor, then wait like around 1 month and hopefully we could see some beta at april.
If not so,i would wait even early june for betaâŚAnd official realise just right before blizzcon = i would even accept this scenario if time has a key role for stable and quality proven product in this caseâŚIt would hurt my feelings, but for greater good i could sacrifize my emotions xD
When you are a WoW, Diablo3, Hots player to, itâs a bit annoying to search for the installer on the site from profile , and how you said itâs not hard to click on the icon and enjoy the game but why you should complicate when in exchange on the blizzard app you download the game and open it from there, where you can get to your blizzard game more easly than searching in folders of make your desktop or start menu with game icons.
I guess it still needs some work to be fully integrated to the application. It is not just drag 'n drop, you know. Warcraft 3 still has its own whole Battle Net and multiplayer systems and WC3 has to work with the BNet 2.0 for it to be added to the app. And adding a simple shortcut without any real integration to the modern battle net would be just pointless and raise up more questions, like why the communication systems donât work with WC3 etc.
Some say they saw WC3 in the launcher for a brief time, but I guess that was just a bug or some other mistake when Blizz was testing it.
I understand that you canât wait for some kind of update, I would of course very much like one as well but to be fair 4 months is not a long time. The classic team is not that big and blizzard is very thorough with their games, theyâre not famous for releasing news and content prematurely. This is a good thing, do you want them to spend their time and money on tweeting and marketing or do you want them to focus on making a good game? Have patience. They still have a ton of work ahead of them and only one year to deliver it all.
This is nothing but immature jealousy. First of all it was actually a 3.75 million sign on-bonus (the rest is in restricted stock options). Also you have to compare to what other CFOâs earn in companies of the same size and youâll notice it is not that unusual. Is it a ridiculous amount of money? Yes but salary has never been related to your work talent or effort, itâs related to your position. This is how the world works and fairness has nothing to do with it.
I know but wasting 15 mil. dollars and then have to fire 800 people is beyond retarded, even if bs like this is the standard on big companies, if itâs a common thing doesnât mean itâs a good thing to do and btw itâs not jealousy, just sadness
I think everyoneâs forgetting the point of the thread. How hard is it for some dev to take ~3 minutes to make a post with a few Work in Progress screenshots or something. 4 Months of total silence is pretty unusual in the industry that has Developer Diaries and/or other forms of community engagement. I mean heck, even tiny studios can make the time for this sort of thing.
Blizzard should be able to allocate 15 minutes out of ~4 months to their community in some form of engagement. Literally even Work in Progress screenshots would be fine or some conceptual art or literally anything.
Maybe they work on the newest patch that contains more patch notes than the last one. Probably thatâs why they havenât post info already. Either we see it on February or somewhere in the Spring. Iâm sure they read forums but refuse to give update yet for X reasons.
As for reforged perhaps when we have battle.net 2.0 then we can see alpha or beta for testing.
Itâs nice to see so much hype still being felt on these forums, but keep your cool. We were getting regular updates over the course of entire November. Iâm sure they have a tasty bit prepared for us right around the corner!

About all those dramas concerning Blizzard, I wouldnât necessarily pay attention to all that. The Classic team are literally gods and nothing is going to stop them <3
