What is good about the game

Warcraft 3 is fun because it is the smallest RTS game that still involves armies. It’s armies are small in comparison to Starcraft 1’s or 2’s 200 food armies, but large compared to Dawn of War 2 which is a squad-based shooter.

what was good about OG W3? tons of things, history, gameplay mechanics, music, replay value, custom games, custom campaigns, modding potential, etc.

was is good about W3R? …

…you can download the custom map you need in the game menu when you join a custom game so there is that and…i think thats it.

didn’t it work like this back then too? oO

did you write this for yourself…?

there was some added functionality for custom maps as well, including the increased player/force limit of 24.

What is good in WC3:R? OLD graphics, OLD menus, OLD sounds and OLD gameplay. Everything NEW is TRASH comparing to the OLD solutions. Even the new license is trash.

There really wasn’t anything new about the licensiung.

Blizzard always “owned” anything that was created with the editor. They just didn’t exercise their rights on it. Those terms have somewhat more force now because played custom games end up on their servers which means they’re allowed to delete anything that gets reported as offensive from their server, but that’s the extent of what actually happens.

W3R legitimately made custom games better by adding new features.

I heard that they now Blizzard owns all mod intellectual property. It means that if somebody creates a new DotA, then Blizzard owns everything and there is no possibility of DotA 2 by Valve. That’s the change I’m talking about. They now CLAIM all IP as their own, which basically means that when you make a mod, then you are an employee of Blizzard and they own ALL RIGHTS to your work.

Despite the fact that DotA was purposely ignored by Blizzard. It is not that one day they woke up and there was Dota2. Their awfully short sight made them lose the game.

Contrary to popular belief Blizzard has always retained rights to anything made with its tools. While the terms were revised, that provision was rewritten but not new. The company doesn’t necessairly have to exercise their rights. The changes came because now custom game maps reside on battle.net’s servers once played on battle.net, and it reserves the right to delete content it doesn’t agree with/is reported and so on and so forth. It does not necessarily mean that someone can’t create a separate video game based on a custom map that was made for war3.

Well microsoft might improve the game as they’re in charge of age of empires so.

My my i did not expect someone to write an accurate description. especially with the mention of DoW2.
