Does Warcraft III Classic and its community just totally die after reforged is released? Or is everyone just going to switch to reforged? I am really excited for reforged, I just know that it would be bad if the Warcraft III community was split. Any ideas, thoughts?

I don’t think it would be split, I think it’s actually bringing the community back together again in a sense!

It’s apparent the latest War3 patches are there to make things there compatible with the new Reforged.

Yah I think Reforged is to kick start balancing for Reforged.
I Think so too, it seems it might be an “Expansion” in the account of some sort. The classic War 3 might be playable with the new version but different graphics. In a sort of cross-play if you will.

In my opinion they should just use the “Battlenet” accounts tied to StarCraft 2, World of Warcraft, etc. and not bother porting over the old version of Battlenet data from the classic Warcraft 3, because Warcraft 3 “classic” and “reforged” would most likely run parallel to each other anyway.

I’m pretty sure you can still buy it. It’s just not on the Blizzard battle.net launcher.
Looks like the link is broken. You should be able to apply the code of a physical copy to your computer though.
I was hoping that it would be like how they did it for Starcraft Remastered. Offer the classic edition for free and have people pay for the upgraded version.

First of all… of course classic wc3 are more competitive. You can control units easily, effects are disabled, square buildings, more fps on weak devices…
That’s not about sc remastered and sc classic. Sc it’s all about sprites.
I believe that they will share these 2 games, at least at a competitive level and players will never play with each other using different versions. The old version has a huge number of advantages for cybersportsmen.

Reforge should be isolated
No, quite the opposite. It won’t split, players from the original W3 and Reforged will be able to play together. It’s one community, so if anything, it’s going to be more alive than ever.

where do you have the crossplay information from, i assume this would be the case too, but do you have any confirmation of this?
They harshly took down the purchase for the classic version of the game which was 9.99 USD for ROC and TFT. While the reforged version is not playable at this moment, there would be no warcraft 3 if you did not own it. I don’t know what they are trying to do now. Maybe they are going to merge the 2 versions.
