What happened to MAC fix?

Hopefully it will be an easy fix, now that the new game is out. It does look like it downloaded and installed the new WC3… it’s just getting hung up on a buggy version checker.

I played it on PC and it’s great. Better matchmaking and overall interface. Subtle nice changes to sound effects. Reforged graphics still unplayable (for me at least).

You can press cmd + tab and click on the app icon in the dock. That will fix the black screen. But after that, there is a new error XD.

An update message appears saying that you must download a new patch, forces you to click update and the game closes automatically.

Yep, same error message indicating to update to 2.0.0.22365.

Not sure why’d I’d purchase the battle chest; feel like I’ve been burned already on “reforged” many years ago. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

tried uninstalling and installing and got same issue.

Awfully bold for them to try and sell us something when the update doesn’t work. Ridiculous.

I’m having this issue as well, then when I command tab into the program it says to download a patch, and clicking that instantly crashes the game. At this point Blizzard needs to give us all a free month of WoW or something since we can’t play the software we paid a license for.

IMO, the update never actually DL’ed for us Mac Users.

I opened Battle.net during the stream earlier, normally it will ask us to “UPDATE”, it never did that, it just switched to from the 1.X.X to 2.0.0, I never downloaded a 2.0.0 update.

The PC users mentioned their update was 4GB, I would have noticed a 4GB file downloading in Battle.Net.

I’m gonna try uninstalling and reinstalling.

EDIT: Don’t uninstall, I now have 0 way to install it again. Even though it appears as My Games, I’m not able to install it, takes me to the purchase page.

Do they even QA these things? Good lord…

Is anyone running on Apple Silicon having this issue? I’m running on an M2 Max and just purchased the game today and am having the same issue as everyone else.

I want a refund… T_T

The specific issue where people literally couldn’t launch the game because it didn’t exist was fixed. If there were any other issues, those are probably still present.

Check the support forums, ive seen some workarounds for certain issues tossed around.

I just receive a blank black screen when I try to launch. What is happening with the Blizzard QA team?

This is a bnet app issue. To fix this, at the battle.net app login, click the gear icon and click “continue without logging in”

You can then install any game regardless of ownership.

Then log back in again.

This current situation would be embarrassing for most software companies. It feels like Blizzard is quiet quitting on the mac. Rather than make an announcement (which would garner negative press) they’ll just let it quietly die from neglect. Later it will be blamed on lack of mac players and budget considerations.

Same here, the game launches and I can hear the background sounds when you are in the game, but nothing renders. It’s all black. I’m on an Imac M3, Sequoia

I saw an 4GB update for Warcraft III reforged on my Mac after the stream. Probably the latest build version didn’t get applied to the Mac code base and the servers were patched to 22365 and our clients are now “out of date.”

Also, what’s up with the Warcraft I/II remasters being Windows only. Both of those games were on MacOS back in the 1990’s. I get that Blizzard is owned by Microsoft these days, but still…
