I’m legitimately saying that to me you’ve done a really solid attempt at remastering the original Warcraft 3.
All the under-the-hood changes, especially to the editor and some engine modifications have been a really positive experience to me since the moment I’ve been testing the game from December until its recent release.
Overall I can notice that some fine-tuning will need to be done over the months, however that doesn’t make me regret my ~40€ purchase. The game is worth it to me, and is both much healthier & cheaper than buying cigarette packages or any other optional addictive substances that I’m not using.
(I’m saying it as a distanced semi-joke, because an one-time fee of 30€ for the purchase is subjectively not an amount I’d bash the company for - hell, it wouldn’t even fund any European/American employee for a month.)
Keep working on the game and keep the good work up! Remember that for every complaint there’s also one or more happy customers sitting quietly off the forums and just enjoying the game, or sleeping, or working, or studying… You get the idea. Satisfied folks don’t usually tell how happy they are with a product.
P.S. This is a personal, public message to the developers that have been working on Warcraft 3 Reforged. I won’t be really going to enter any arguments whether the game is good to somebody or not. I’m sharing my own opinion.
P.P.S. As much as this seems unlikely, I’d gladly buy a Warcraft 4 continuing after the story of Warcraft 3. I don’t like World of Warcraft and I’m not interested in it, so kindly and in advance - don’t confuse me for a company zealot.
Finally a breath of fresh air ! With all the hate surrounding the forums, some people realize that every freshly released piece of software is going to have bugs which will be fixed post release. Congrats !
Exactly, that’s how the flow of any larger IT development seems to go based on my personal experience while working in the computer technology industry.
Overall I think that it’s going to be a fun game for me and my clanmates. As long as no player will treat the game as a job, because it’s just one of many PC enjoyments out there.
It seems like what WoW has done to the story and how to reconcile the two into the future may be a hitch. But I don’t get how they haven’t done a Warcraft 4 yet. The RTS genre is extremely overlooked by other developers too so I think there’s hunger for a new game.
I wouldn’t cling to anybody’s words that much. There was no hidden meaning for the “solid attempt” wording. It literally means that their efforts are solid to me.
Actions on the other hand speak louder than words, that’s why I’m going to stay with my 40€ purchase as to me they’ve earned this small payment from me for their product, which includes all the future support they’re going to do.
The game is embarassing, it doesn’t work properly there’s no chat (cuz u definitely cant claim that rubbish is a chat)… They failed hard that’s it… It’s like the first time i saw something similar happening
Let’s not forget that the example things which you’ve rightfully listed as they’re recurring posts are something that can be readjusted by Blizzard in any of the next updates.
Even one of the largest gaming industry successes and the pride of my country, The Witcher 3 had some issues on its release and was only made even better post-release.
The way I see it is that I think a single game instance for both the Classic and the Reforged versions is necessary to streamline melee and custom game experience & integrate the modern Battlenet as smooth as possible, because something fully smooth in IT might as well be a red herring .
Hopefully the User Experience will be only getting better with next updates.
I also used to have a high stat melee account, 3-digit number of wins, 52% win rate with all races except humans.
This is also where I originally founded my clan back in February of 2009. Although we’ve globalised many years ago.
I feel you, it’s not like I don’t. Been there myself.
