Anyone else hate sitting in a lobby for DotA or other custom games only for the host to never return from being alt+tabbed? Understandably, when one takes time to fill a lobby, a host may be checking on YouTube or social media. Imo, hosts should be notified when the lobby becomes full via a chime.
Get a 2nd screen. Problem solved.

a 2 monitor setup (or an extended ulttrawide monitor that can be split) is the most wonderful thing.

Me too. But I have 2x 27" screens connected to my Laptop.
For what you want only 1 extra screen would be already enough. Because you’d have your Laptop’s display and the 1 extra screen 
Having a laptop doesn’t prevent you from using external monitors at home

well the issue is i play on my laptop while sitting in my bed
anything other than a mouse to play this game is horrible, I don’t know how you can manage that.
