Wc3 reforged unit collision and grouping

I cant believe of all the things that is changing with wc3 reforged how bliz did not change the biggest complaint alot of people have when compared to sc2: the unit paths and grouping in wc3 is horrendous in comparrison.

The grouping in wc3 only has room for ~20 units? SC2 you can have DOZENS upon DOZENS of units in a single group or a single selection…how difficult is it really to change such a small UI thing?

The unit selection limiters weren’t changed in SC1: Remastered either. Changing those things creates a different game. Fighting against the interface is part of classic RTS genre.

but I never once felt like I was fighting the interface for sc2. It was beautiful! and that just seems like a cop-out to not upgrade the ui

It’s been the same for 17 years.
If you change it now it’s not Warcraft the RTS.

It’s really not a big issue, considering in Warcraft many units have different spells you need to activate, so it’s faster to put them into seperate groups to faster access said skills anyway. (Rather than tabbing through them all).

Also the fact remains in Warcraft you generally only control a handful of units anyway. In contrast to Starcraft where you can pretty much double/triple the amount of units.

Seems like you want to go play Starcraft :wink:

Map Editors are likely to maybe remove this lock on their custom maps, but for ladder it will be staying.

Its supposed to be that way their design philosophy for gameplay is that it has to stay the exact same! It needs to feel like WC3 and also be compatible with the classic version of it because there is crossplay!

would be great to see improved pathfinding in custom games, but 99.95% blizz dont go for it - they alrdy have no time to just made skins and make it perform well at fps.
