I know playing on Linux is not officially supported, but has any one else tried playing WC3 Reforged 2.0 on Linux using Wine/Proton compatibility layer? When I try launching it hangs on a black screen and does nothing else. I was seeing a lot of similar issues with people on actual Windows, so I’m not sure if it has anything to do with Wine/Proton specifically.
You want to use wine-ge-proton8-26 i order to play this properly. I would also suggest to use lutris or bottles as a launcher.

Thanks, That worked! I was already using lutris, but I had the runner set to GE-Proton (Latest) which was using a 9.x version with the newer UWU-launcher integration, which I have been using to play WoW. It seems that has issues with WC3 though, but setting the runner to wine-ge-proton8-26 does indeed work.
-I added wine-ge-proton8-26 to my Lutris runner but I still had black screen.
-For me the solution was to also do this in Lutris Configure → System Options → Vulkan ICD Loader → choose Nvidia
-This is probably because I have an optimus laptop with 2 graphic cards
