I found my old WC3 game that I still had on my external harddrive and gave it a try and everything went great. I got so much fun, that I decided to checkout my old BattleNet account and I still have my WC3 (TFT included) keys.
So I downloaded BattleNet and installed WC3 Reforged (I didn’t buy Reforged yet) so I wanted to play the classic WC3 with the BattleNet Launcher.
After everything was installed and updated I gave it a try and the FPS ingame are absolute low.
The game says that I habe 5< FPS (switching from 4-5 FPS).
When playing the old copy I saved on my Harddrive I had no problems at all and now I am a little clueless what the Problem is.
My Specs:
Intel Core i7-11700F
Geforce RTX 3070
32GB RAM
Windows 10 Pro
I have no FPS problems at other new games (Baldurs Gate 3 or Modern Warefrae II).
I tried the following:
-Restart
-Changing the Hz oft he monitor
-resetet the changes from Nvidia
I also tried the PTR but it has the same problem.
I would be gratefull for any help.
If you need further information just tell so. And sorry for my broken English
P.S. I didn’t know if my question fitted in the big thread for FPS problems, because it was mainly for AMD users.
Yes, the AMD issue (summarized by JaFrostscar) has not been resolved so far.
I found that almost all the reports were AMD, and I have never seen anyone report Intel (except for one person)
Some people say that reducing mouse lag has not solved the fps problem either.
There is no “AMD issue.” Some users are experiencing degraded performance on the latest version, but it is not specific to AMD users, and many people with Intel devices have also described having issues.
Also, if you actually looked, you’d notice that OP has an Intel CPU and NVIDIA graphics card. No AMD hardware.
It was never proposed as a fix for the problem- but since this option does degrade performance, it certainly does not help matters to have it enabled.
I have no idea, but it certainly doesn’t appear to have anything to do with the particular CPU inside someone’s machine.
When you say that this is an “AMD issue” when in fact it is not, you do not help anyone. It doesn’t help Blizzard fix any bugs, and it creates a false impression that AMD systems are bad to play the game with (or bad in general) when that is simply not the case.
Except it isn’t, because I have no such stutter. Any such “stutter” is most likely not CPU or GPU related at all, much less to a particular brand of either.
I’m on an AMD CPU -and- GPU and while I can certainly confirm a performance degredation from 1.35 (actually an earlier 1.36 build on the PTR) to 1.36, it is simply a lower frame rate. There is no “stuttering” or “lag.” Since AMD users may or may not have a stutter, any such stutter can not be specifically attributed to AMD hardware.
and as I explained, it does have an effect. it’s just the FPS drop isn’t as big as yours.
And: I never have a “stutter.” not in 1v1, not in 4v4, not in Line Tower Wars, or anything else. The FPS can get kind of low in those situations, but it’s expected because those things are more demanding.
And wouldn’t you know it, when you put more polygons on the screen performance decreases. Who knew? rolls eyes
I’m running AMD and still have high fps (100+) with maxed out settings. My problem is FPS stuttering/micro freezes every 2 seconds no matter what’s on the screen, both single and multiplayer. Sadly lowering the settings has no effect on it.
Usually “micro stutters” are an indication of lack of avialable RAM and/or a memory leak, or a problem with the storage device the game is on. As in, the program is waiting for something to be loaded into memory.
If your framerate is fine between this, it is a high probability. And there is certainly some possibility of memory leaks (due to bad programming) in the game. But this definitely has nothing to do with an AMD vs Intel chip.
It’s not an AMD unique issue, stop saying that it is. If it was, I would be seeing it, and I’m not. I have reduced FPS only. No stutters of any kind. Frankly I think it’s more likely t his is the game not preloading everything and affecting people playing on traditional hard drives in Reforged mode, rather than SSDs which are pretty much the norm at this point.
I have three Samsung pro models of various numbers, two are SATA and ond is m.2. So no game frankly has any excuse to “stutter” much less this one.
You didn’t, that’s because you only played 1vs1, and the people affected were all playing large maps (but in version 1.35, everyone could run the game smoothly).
Don’t say that AMD is okay, most of the people affected now are AMD.
Once again, don’t say you’re okay (because you only play 1vs1)
Jazzon’s question is already very clear, just fps only has 5
There was no mention of the amd issue at all (FPS stuttering/micro freedom every 2 seconds
Amd problem=(Intel low ping)+(FPS stuttering/micro freedom every 2 seconds)
Calling it the AMD problem is very appropriate
If you don’t want to call amd? So what do you want to address as a question? You haven’t done it yet (do you want to call Blizzard the problem? It’s a very foolish idea)
The only variables in the video are changes in the game version
I believe your science grades are a mess.
After watching my video, what other hardware issues do you need to talk about? (The variables in this video are only the game version)
When it comes to the issue of amd, it’s just that there are many amd issues (Intel only has a single low fps problem). This problem is more accurately referred to as the amd problem
Running three different game versions on the same computer yields three different frame rates,
Amd running 1.36 (FPS stuttering/micro free every 2 seconds)
However, amd runs 1.35 is ok
Don’t reply to my messages again. You have the right to speak, but there’s no need to waste my time here.
All the people here are just trying to solve the problem,
And you always try to change the topic,
Not amd problem
The memory capacity of 16g is relatively small
M2 problem
Attempting to lead the topic to unrelated places, naming the problem as unrelated to the solution, the problem is already there and everyone has reported the problem (only you have consistently opposed it)
What we need is only to solve the fps problem, not to listen to you talking nonsense here, and you are not an official either. Discussing the name of the problem with you did not have any effect on solving the problem
I don’t only play 1vs1. I play all official modes. There can definitely be well over 100 units on the screen in team modes and I still have entirely playable framerates with no stutters. Could they be higher? Yes. Is it unplayable? No.
AMD is fine. You have no statistics on how many people have problems with which company’s products. Intel users have complained, this issue is not AMD specific, period, end of story. The more you argue this, the more this just becomes a thread about bashing AMD when there is nothing wrong with their CPUs. The fact is, any number of non-AMD users experiencing the same issue means it is not an AMD specific issue, otherwise zero non-AMD users would be affected. This fact tells me that the problem is entirely with the game and any variations in how much of a performance drop one sees is dependent on their overall configuration.
Now it could be argued that buyers of Intel chips for gaming PCs are more likely to have built higher end systems that mask the performance problem more than AMD users who may be more budget-minded. But AMD does offer high end chips like the one in my system, which is not experiencing as large of a performance drop as you are. But this isn’t a defect in AMD chips or how they interact with the game, it is simply a fact of a less powerful chip running a game with less performance than a more powerful one. And I’m certain if you bought a cheaper Intel chip, you’d see the same thing.
It. Is. Not. An. AMD. Issue. Stop this pointless line of argument.
Once again, I don’t only play 1v1, and I never said I was okay. I see reduced performance just like many other people are. The fact that it isn’t significantly hurting my game experience does not mean that it doesn’t exist. I used a 1v1 map for testing because it was the simplest way to ensure that all test parameters are consistent and for no other reason.
I have basically the same to you (“Don’t say you have an issue if you only play custom games”, because as I said multiple times before, custom games are not supported in any way and many exceed the game’s original design limitations. Any feedback about low game performance needs to be based on official content for it to be useful to the development team/person/people.
You said so much without meaning, none of the problems have been solved, and you are still struggling with the naming problem of others’ problems on your own. It’s meaningless
