Blizzard has published the stream links for the Warcraft Direct stream. The stream link includes a description previewing some of the topics being covered by the stream, including an Update for Warcraft3 Reforged.
30 Years of Warcraft RTS: Hear from the team working on the games that started it all as they look to bring some exciting new updates to Warcraft III Reforged and more.
Server maintenance is scheduled for just before Warcraft Direct.
I really want to know if Blizzard now has internal developers doing RTS work or whether it’s being handled by another Microsoft studio like World’s Edge or even outsourced. It will say a lot about what we can expect for both Warcraft and StarCraft support going forward.
I haven’t been following any WC3 news, other than the issues on MacOS, but I am looking forward for any attention given to WC3 Reforged.
Probably not going to happen, but I would love a reforged version of WC1 and WC2. I remember playing both in the 90’s on my Mac, and would love to see a return of them with updated graphics, cutscenes, and new content for each.
You can absolutely correct me if I’m mistaken but isn’t the gog version just War2BNE? Which was made available on the battle.net store relatively recently.
Also, yeah it’s pretty plain as day on the bnet tracker lol
Unfortunately, they aren’t the same, and a bunch of people who bought when it showed up on the launcher were not happy to say the least.
The Battlenet version is unupdated, essentially the version it was left at when development stopped.
Without a handfull of community made patches, it has a bunch of different issues. It could fail to launch, crash easily, black screens, Battlenet UI has a load of graphical glitches, when updating it for the first time it could fail repeatedly.
It’s the same for the Battlenet versions of D1 and WC1, and it was the same reaction from the people who bought those. I spent weeks answering threads with links to community made patches and/or links to the refund system for all three.
All this is assuming nothing has changed since January.
