After carefully reading this thread I’m glad I asked for a refund (which was granted) for my preorder of Reforged.
Let me tell you in your face, half assed reply like your post won’t work to appease the anger of your own loyal fanbase. They’ve had enough. You promised, you failed to deliver, and I won’t list your long record of failures for Reforged. Nowadays the games all have tons of codes alright, bugs are inevitable and people sure as hell understand that. Case in point however, your Reforged fails to fulfill the expectations you rightly placed on your own shoulder through 30 USD price tag. This is an AAA game not some random indies crying for capital or cash flow.
So yeah, I gotta say save your fake apology. Players will only see it through actions, not some blog writing on your censored forum.
The pool of players interested in automated tournaments is at its greatest in years, and the feature would be more popular than you anticipate. There was very low usage of tournaments because:
Arranged Team was completely broken for over a year, and players were unable to team together. By default, 2v2 and 3v3 tournaments had limited participation because of this.
The ladder and tournament website on battle.net had critical issues updating for years. Results from tournaments were often significantly delayed, or altogether non-existent. How would I know what my tournament standing looked like if there is no other way to view tournaments in progress?
The player base for the game was much smaller in 1.30 than it had been at any point previously in the game, also limiting those who were interested in tournaments.
What did the usage of tournaments look like in 2014? 2015? 2016? The community asking for tournaments is not an individual concern - they are a commonly requested feature that should make a return to the game.
Also disingenuous. At Blizzcon 2019, you informed us that in-game cutscenes would not be redone completely only months before release - and after radio silence for a year. There was no communication between November 2018 and November 2019 from producers, developers, artists, network engineers, or even community managers.
I am at a loss for words with how tone deaf this post feels. What people are upset about is hardly isolated or “individual concerns.” The consensus among critics is almost identical to those of the fan base - the game lacks critical features that already existed, classic is broken, and many features that were touted for the game were quietly walked back without a word from the team.
Any word on custom campaign functionality returning? It was an essential part of the original game and it certainly feels rotten to have it patched out of the game entirely, especially since we can’t just go back to the classic game client.
but that’s what the fans wanted. The old cut scenes in WC3 Classic where like that due to the limitations of the game. We know if they had a better engine they would have been more like the culling or like they did in SC2.
But the real question is when are you going to remove the Culling trailer from WC3 website? when are you goin to stop with the false advertising
My love for this company started and ended with the same game, how ciclical.
I’m not envoius of the devs and I can imagine the feeling…
Good luck, Activision…Blizzard is basically an Undead army by this point.
Let’s see if you can salvage this into something that can make the original devs and playbase proud.
I’m sad the developers have been put in this position. It’s clear the game wasn’t ready to launch, but it was decided to do so anyhow.
I hope this is just a bump in the road and you get the optimizations and everything fixed… maybe we’ll look back on this and say “yeah, it was a rough start, but look where we are now!”
But I worry that this delay where things aren’t working will hurt the pro scene and long time enthusiast scene that’s kept this beautiful game alive.
Good luck fixing your remaining issues. I hope this time next year, the graphics have been perfected, the networking is great and we have a ladder so we can start thinking about new tavern heroes or something fun.
what’s even worse at that panel they were really vauge about it. They didn’t say that they would remove the culling cut scene they already finsihed and the panel ends with them teasing the Illlidan vs Arthas fight IN THE CULLING STYLE.
So they make a vauge statement about “reigining it in with the cut scenes” then promote a cut scene that is in the culling style.
The very clear answer is they didn’t have the money to do it for all the cut scenes. Hell if they had just left the Culling cut scene in they wouldn’t have had as many returns.
The number of players will be much bigger in reforged as in classic. So tournamnets will be thing again. I hope you bring tournaments back. And maybe use the SC2 tournament system instead of the old classic version. A lot of veterans are back to play WC3 again and those may also want to play tournaments. Also with the fresh blood that will try out wc3 for the first time; your playerbase in reforged will be much bigger than in old classic. No wonder classic was 18 years old.
Releasing this game without Ladder, Profiles and Stats were the worst thing you could do. You should have delayed the release to summer this year and get it right. Just extend the beta. Poeple want a working game. They would understand a delay. But they don’t want to waste their time on a game without features. I hope this game will not lose too many players because of this false decision. Because I want to find multiplayer games.
I’ve been playing custom maps with my friends/family on War3 FOR YEARS, now every time I try to make a private lobby, players are immediately kicked from the game shortly after downloading the map, it’s insufferable, I paid 90$(Across 3 PCs) for you to ruin a game I’ve been playing for over 10 years.
What’s funny is that I’ve been having problems playing games online with people in my own home ever since blizz started updating the game again, when they first decided to start making lan nearly unplayable for customs, and of course it’s only become worse since then.
Now lan is removed entirely and I’m unable to so much as have people join most customs without getting kicked.
I want to point out 2 major flaws in your statement
If you had any respect for the Warcraft III game or any of Blizzard franchise and claim that their are an integral part of Blizzard DNA.
Then why is it that the whole game wasn’t built IN House of Blizzard development team and used out house source work from another team not associated with Blizzard?
You invalidate this whole statement by trying to claim you respect the general fans and the companies ( Blizzards) value and vision. Yet did the quite opposite if you can’t commit to working on your games alone without the help of outside sources when you all should just not touch any of your well loved franchise properties until you can dedicate fully to it.
Your tarnish whatever respect and image you have left.
Again if your not fully committed to the so called Blizzard DNA on any game you are involved in don’t even bother touching it.
PTR is hardly a solution plus very few people know about it, i already got it couple days ago. Thing is that it will be gone the moment htey decide to test some balancing for Reforged…we need actual classic client brought to 1.32 officially there selectable like WoW Classic is. IF they dont it right i.e. Starcraft Remastered there woud be no problem at all… it preserved every single thing from original. And mechanicly is purely original too. That’s how Reforged should be…
