Wow I have almost identical specs as you (no i7 though) and I am having the same problem. What’s up with this game? Noobs writing code?
I love warcraft, I believe the blizzard team will fix the issues and implement ladder, profiles and smarter matchmaking. I don’t want cutscenes and improved compaigns (maybe just few new in the future) So sad to see so much of negativity, so many players won’t come to this beautiful game because of it. It’s a Blizzard fault ofc to release uncompleted game, but it still looks and feels awesome. I really enjoy new models and the game. Blizzard, please do ur best. The hope is alive.
The failure to update the lore with new scenes and new dialogue reflecting the additions and detail that arose in the intervening years since WoW started was a really disappointing thing to hear.
And to point to some fraction of players that complain about any changes to the campaign sounds like a weak excuse concocted to justify cutting costs to ship out earlier. Sure, there’s always some sliver of opinion that’s purist in nature and will say “don’t change anything!”
Yet, the quality of Blizzard cutscenes, the range of voice actors and a lot of their skill, that stuff has improved over the intervening years. The world is a LOT more fleshed out than it was when WC3 originally came out. Virtually all of the additions you could think to add to such stories wouldn’t involve changing existing lore so much as just adding onto the lore that was already there.
Examples of obvious additional scenes we could have seen:
It’s easy to think of examples. For instance - Gilneas. It’s a big plot point in WoW history that Gilneas closed their doors to Lordaeron when their people were fleeing from the Scourge. You’ve got Greymane as a big character in current WoW. Easy to see the benefit of adding a scene about that to the game. Or take Stormwind - it was the second biggest human nation. They have no real role in the missions of the campaign, but adding a scene or two to just show how Varian and Stormwind in general are reacting to the fall of Lordaeron would have been great. I’d love to have heard Metzen voicing some lines as Varian about that as Varian learns the news.
Or take Jaina’s story in Theramore. The death of her father and the founding of Orgrimmar are big important plot points. But the delivery looks dry and sub-par compared to the kind of drama and visuals we see in flashbacks to those events in BFA. Or take just the aftermath - Kul Tiras learning the admiral is dead and leaving the Alliance. It’s a missing scene in history, and would have been worthy of addition.
Or take the fall of the Sunwell. WoW’s plot actually added some really significant details to this. Arthas freezing the waters to travel to the Sunwell, him confronting Anasterian Sunstrider, the king of the High Elves, and killing him. The confrontation with the king isn’t in the original WC 3 - but talk about a scene worthy of addition. To the extent that “changes” the lore in the original WC3, how in the world would anyone be upset over that kind of addition? Other major Blood Elf characters introduced over the years, who were there when the Scourge invaded, could also have gotten screentime and would have been appreciated (Lor’themar, Liadrin, etc.).
A WarCraft 3 remake had so much potential to leverage the fleshing out of the world and story and characters that has been done over the last 15 years. Not only would that have made it a bigger draw for people who already played the old version and would like to see something new, but it would have the benefit of your two major WarCraft properties really boosting each other (and the failure to add things - like the death of the High Elf king - instead has the opposite effect of creating a weird disconnect between your stories, which is the thing you need the least in the plot department right now).
This was advertised as a remake, not a mere remaster
The advertising for this game at Blizzcon made me think we were going to see some fun additions to the campaigns and some cool new lore moments. But instead, for some bizarre reason, Blizzard’s executives decided to turn this from an ambitious remake into a lazy remaster, citing that they heard some purists posting dissatisfaction with the idea of changes. What an incredible cop-out.
Here’s what it looks like to consumers: Your executives wanted to speed up your release date and cut costs, and you latched onto a fractional opinion so that you could justify that decision by pointing to some players. It looks even more false when you realize that nothing in releasing a remake would require eliminating the original version from being playable (for purists). I’ve seen more than a few remakes over the years do exactly that - offer an updated take, while making the original version playable for those wanting to see it.
A passionless, lazy cashgrab
Scaling your designs back into being a remaster has done a lot of damage to your brand. It really highlights how much passion Blizzard’s executive team has lost for their own properties. The low scores and blistering reviews are so richly deserved. This should have been the easiest damn home run of the year for Blizzard. An RTS remake with units and balance already figured out going into it, that just required an updated campaign, higher graphics, and UI improvements from the intervening years for the RTS genre.
I do feel bad for the CM’s. I know they’re basically just the messengers. So no ill will towards Kaivax or any other standard blue posters on the forums. The disappointment is really directed at the executives. When Activision-Blizzard adds the sales of this game to their profits for their next quarterly report, I hope a representative of the stockholders holds your executives’ feet to the fire. Blizzard’s executives prioritized very short term profits at the cost of long-term brand damage. That’s a combination of greed and incompetence that shouldn’t be in charge of anything.
I don’t blame the Devs that worked hard on the game but I do blame the vultures that they work for. I say this directed towards them and not the devs. The graphics are an outsourced let down, promised features are missing, there’s more bugs and less features than we had prior to Reforged, it’s just an overall let down. I’ve got the World Editor open right now and there’s nothing new. How long do I have to wait for the game to actually come out because it’s clearly not released yet… Perhaps next time don’t PROMISE things if you aren’t going to follow through with them, you did this with Starcraft 2, you did it again with Diablo 3, and I suppose you’ll continue to do it with Diablo 4. I look forward to seeing how bad you screw that game up too.
This company was once known for creating the greatest PC games of all time. Now they’re known for ruining the greatest PC games of all time.
Improve your reading comprehensions. I was responding to a guy who said that ‘‘at least they did say sorry’’
so more excuses? it is a farce to say you won’t be updating the campaign because you want to “preserve the original story” because the original plan called for a reforged campaign and a classic campaign option.
Stop lying and just say you don’t have the time and resources to do it. We know you are lying. You are making yourselves look bad instead of being straightforward and honest. Instead of anger there would just be some disappointment and understanding of the circumstances.
The level of misunderstanding and refusal to admit lies seems almost passive aggressive at this point.
As a company you hear a lot at that moment…its logic cause you tried to connect a complete game with total nothing…we cant even have our old nicknames…how sad is that? my new nickname its nickname#12312 …why all these numbers? Why i cant have more than 200 maps in my folder?Cause if have i cant open to create game…
I play a certain game which i had 70 fps…now i have 26…tell me how you managed to do that??I have 1060 gtx nvidia ffs…
Nothing about how you forced visual downgrades on Classic users who didn’t buy Reforged, locking Shadows, Lighting, Foliage, and Anti-Aliasing (all things that could be changed before Reforged) behind the Reforged Paywall?
Nothing on your foul, disgusting, business practices?
Nothing about how you made a fully functioning 17 year old game WORSE?
I was creating my first map for months now but after I saw this EULA-thing (the fact that it was already there before Reforged doesn’t change the fact that it’s stupid) I don’t know if I will publish it
And honestly it makes me sad
The in-game cutscenes are literally just a reskinned version of the originals. I wanted all new cutscenes as was advertised. This is not what I paid for. This was not what I wanted. Thanks for ruining my 1.5 years of excitement for this game. How utterly disappointing.
all to please your Chinese masters, really pathetic, cancer is activision and the new director of blizzard, if that liar who apologized to us at blizzcon 2019
pd: Malasia’s teamwork , really??? hahahahah
When will there already be a fix that will add the visual level shown to us in the demo version on Сon 18!!?? :сердитый:
Grubby does a Reforged and Classic youtube comparison, and it was EXACTLY THE SAME, just little change with camera angle.
And still advertise with main page with full redone I think it’s some blatant lie confirmed with this post …
Blizzard, can you give feedback to the guys working on the models? There are some improvements that definitely need to be made.
- Some units are too difficult to see in a chaotic battle (Mountain King).
- Some units are too difficult to see what colour they are and which team they belong to (spell breakers, water elementals).
- Some units have animations which are far too elaborate which is distracting and obscures some of the things that are happening in the battle (the splashing water animation around water elementals).
Please focus on making units clear and easy to identify… this is an RTS!
"we did not want the in-game cutscenes to steer too far from the original game. "
Making it look a lot better (as in the demo of Blizzcon 2018) but still using the same story would NOT steer it far from the original, it would only ENHANCE it.
Thats a laughable cover story statement honestly, and they know it.
i am more care about the gameplay experience than campaign cutscenes. some people say they don’t like the appearances of some characterers/ they are good enough for me , and i am satisfied with the level of details when you zoom in; so this is a very subjective matter, and blaming blizzard for that seems unfair.
I just want blizzard to fix and optimize the cpu usage of this game . my laptop is roaring and temperature gets so high that throughout the whole game, my fans go into overdrive.
in-game sudden frame rate drop is also common.
Wow so many typing guys this thread is on fire.
Wasn’t it promised it was supposed to be an option and players would choose between original or not?
Because honestly, it just seems like you guys gave up for the sake of time/money/incompetence than any real desire.
