There are lots of great games out there but there’s something unique about WC3 that makes it have a special place in my heart. It’s one of those things in life that make you say “I’m glad I’m alive and have the possibility to admire the existence of such a great thing!”. I really pity all people who don’t like this game. I’m not even exaggerating. Everytime I’m replaying the campaigns I get a glimpse of the passion and the great work that the creators have put into making such a well organized, designed, attention-to-detail interest and stunning music, awesome voices, cool dialogues, and a very entertaining story. Props to the people for the patience and cleverness to create and place all the secrets and easter eggs throughout the campaign maps.
It would be such an awesome thing to be able to shake hands as appreciation with every person who has contributed to the creation of Warcraft III.
Just felt like making this post guys. And I wish good luck to all the developers who are working for the Reforged. I hope it’s going to have a good result in the end, but for me the original will always have that special place in my heart, no matter how good the Reforged will be.

Agree, the game is a masterpiece. The music especially was perfect, as well as the voice acting, the level design in the camapaigns as well, oh and the cinematics.

It took me quite a long time getting used to the graphics and music back in the day.
The story was good, but at the time it felt derivitive of Starcraft style plot twisting. I played a ton of WC3, well into 2010. Mostly custom maps at that point.
WC3 is a damned solid game. Not on my top 10 despite all its greatness though, I think D2 and SC are still higher, and a bunch of non-blizz games like Monster Hunter, Zelda and such holding higher measure.
Balance was always my sore point with WC3, and its what drove me to custom games and DOTA. The game is balanced based on hero priority, and you would always go DH, BM, AM, DK every game. Strategies are not fluid like SC, one bad engagement can lose you the game.
I loved the theme of the game, but the execution of stategy for 1v1 was way too specific to metas and counterplay, an aspect I found way too restricting for an RTS. I lived and breathed Warcraft since WC2, and WC3, while very fun, isnt my GOAT only because of how the meta was chosen to be balanced.
That being said, I would love to see a day where Paladin or POTM become first pick viable. Im not holding onto any hope it would happen, but that would help elevate it to GOAT status in my books.

The game has one of the greatest campaigns/story of all time and gave birth to the biggest MMO ever, the best moba and to a certain extent the TD genre. Surely a masterpiece.
