I play on my laptop with an HDMI to my tv. All other games on blizzard work just fine with the TV sound. But, warcraft 3 will only come out of my laptop speakers and not my TV
Make the HDMI output your default sound device. War3 will only use the default device and doesn’t have an option to select different ones
You can also try open War3Preferences.txt in “My Documents→Warcraft III (if you’re playing PTR, then Warcraft III Public Test)”, find “outputsounddev” under the sub-item “[Sound]”, change its value (default is -1) to other numbers like 0 or 1. If the option functions normally, it should be able to change the sound output device.
Not guaranteed to work, but worth a shot.
P.s.: the “outputspeakermode” under “outputsounddev” may allow you output with other sound modes like surround sound (the default value means stereo I presume), you can change the value to test if you like.
