Warcraft 3 crashes on startup with "unexpected error" messag

Hello everyone,

I’m having a recurring issue when trying to launch Warcraft 3. The game closes immediately after launching and displays an error message that says:
“The application encountered an unexpected error.”

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

  • Disabled antivirus
  • Cleared DNS cache
  • Reset network settings

Despite these steps, the problem persists.

:wrench: System specs:

  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Storage: 900 GB SSD (plenty of free space)
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83 GHz
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB VRAM)
  • Network: Two separate 100 Mbps internet connections from different ISPs

Any suggestions or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Was it always like that or did you manage to play the game before?

I am on a brand new apple and same thing happens to me everytime now. I reinstall and it works once but if I quit, upon starting up again I always get, "were having troubles launching battle.net update agent and then has a more help blue number that has a broken page :frowning: Sad blizzard let this game die

Not able to play either and annoyed, game refuses to launch despite saying so. I never had any of these issues prior to Reforged forcing the Battle.net launcher thing on us

This could be very stupid, but what Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables do you have installed on your PC?
