The title said it all.

They are about to make this into a mobile game, that’s gonna be free to play. It’s sad. I’m sad. I don’t know what to say.

I read the article, it does not say exactly that this game is becoming Mobile, it might be a totally new game based on Warcraft…?
You can also click the conference call, it’s a legal document that they recorded of the entire thing. You will see what I mean. They never mention any war reforged, they don’t mention taking any resources from their flagship games. They just talk about a new warcraft mobile free to play. This is what we will hear about during blizcon.
Not sure where to click the conference call? Any links would be appreciated.
Weird, the link was in some of the soup of links. But I guess I kinda just clicked until I found it. Anyhow, here’s a direct link, as much as forum lets me. Just type either this into google, or i’ll give u keywords.
Link:
https investor activision com financial-information quarterly-results
Keywords:
activision blizzard Q4 2020
type that into google u’ll get the full document pdf as like first result i think, u can look into other stuff 2 if u like. But I’m just using this to support my specific statement.
Dang. That’s one way to warp words and meanings.
“…making a free to play Warcraft game” is the title of the article. No where did they mention Warcraft III. They even use the word “spin off” twice when referring to the Warcraft franchise.
I get that people are upset, I am too, even to the point of refunding the Tuesday after Blizzcon '19. But geeze, how do people manage to change what’s right in front of them to fit some personal narrative? It’s one thing if the source isn’t cited because then it’s hard to fact-check. But the source is provided right along with the misrepresentation, as if the audience can’t read.
Researching around on the topic indicates it’s World of Warcraft that’s being focused on, not Warcraft III, which is far more in line with the actual conference call. Warcraft 3 was never mentioned once in the call. WoW was mentioned constantly.
Hey man, just saying. You can listen to the conference call. You will see what I mean. Or not. Up to you. Also watch blizcon, u’ll see how well your statement ages. I hope I am wrong. But if you listen to it, they praise the performance of webgames, they say they will move Warcraft into it, and have a team set up for it. They don’t say anything about any hope for WARIII. To me that sounds like restructuring, to fit a different market. But heck what I know.
I read the transcript the day it came out. I wouldn’t have made those claims if I hadn’t.
There’s no words to age. All I did was point out what someone else said and how you skewed it for your thread: In the conference call, WC3 was never mentioned. WoW was a lot. The title of your thread explicitly states WC3 despite the article not mentioning it and even using the words “spin off” twice. Even your opening line is:
“This.” As in, referring to your title.
I’m not contesting your claim that the franchise is going mobile, just your claim that WC3 is as if Bliz explicitly said it is.
Listen man. I am gonna try to explain it one more time, and then blizzcon will either prove you or me right eh?
During that call they have to disclose any finacial moves, it’s a legal requirment.
We know they let go the team for WARIII earlier last year. We know, that noone is asigned there, no finances are moved there, and the only other thing besides war craft that they speak of is war craft spin off. Warcraft III is a warcraft spin off. It’s the third spin off to be precise, unless u count reforged. So this is how u test my idea. If they give a warcraft mobile game in blizzcon, and this game gets no updates. You know what happened. And you can pick apart my wording, but it’s just simple reality bud.
If it were legal requirement, all financial moves would need to be disclosed. So all the franchises that weren’t mentioned in the call are being cut off, set out to pasture? No, of course not, Sklis. And that’s because you don’t understand what those investor calls are for. They are not all inclusive reports of the company’s doings and plans. They are simply time-limited sales pitches. Thus, they focus on the current big ticket items only, the most impressive stuff. And that’s why the quarterly calls often don’t mention every franchise, this one being an example.
We know, however there is a team of 200 people that have been working along side with Bliz on their franchises for quite a while who recently have been transitioned in to replace Team 1.
So…
…no we don’t. In fact, in the articles that have recently came out, the “representatives” intentionally did not reveal how the new 200 person team is specifically distributed.
What? No they’re not. The games and expansions are the main story line.
And nothing I’ve said needs proving or disproving at Blizzcon. I never said that WC3 won’t get a mobile version, just that you’ve claimed it is, and cited a source that doesn’t say anything of the sort. Everything I’ve said is in the confines of your words versus the article’s words. I’ve only taken what you said and compared them to your source.
And finally, picking apart wording is the purpose of fact-checking.
Listen man, you can argue about my reasoning. Or words. It’s all good. Bottom line we are getting WarCraft Mobile game, this game will have 0 updates. And you can spin it any way you want, especially after what i said comes true.
Setting up a new team, to replace WARIII would not be a small thing bud, and would have to be in the report. It’s not like updating balances in a 20 year-old game, that’s an entire team we are talking about. If they made a new dedicated team, we’dd see it talked about as with previous dedicated teams. They have to disclose if they do so. But hey, testing is not important. I am willing to never bring this up again, if it plays out as you say during blizcon. I’dd be happy for yout be right. But Unfortunately, this is how it will be. They will push at us another warcraft mobile, and War iii will have no more updates.
Multiple (World of) Warcraft mobile games are in development. (World of) Warcraft, not Warcraft III. Warcraft III is dead for Blizzard.
Amazing how you took what someone else said and misrepresented it, and then followed it right up by taking what I said, and skewing it into something it isn’t.
You’re arguing with me about things I haven’t said.
Are you arguing if this time they also lie to us? When do they see us lying since they announced the game?
The game was in development … they did nothing.
The game was going to have a lot of patches … they didn’t do anything.
The game has nine teams or not … they won’t do anything.
I fully expected a warcraft mobile game after they mentioned that they were making several mobile titles a couple years ago. However, warcraft mobile does not equal warcraft 3 mobile; it’d likely be a WoW pet battler game. MAYBE a city builder since those seem to be successful. But WC3 is not going mobile. Please remove any reference to wc3 in your wording as it’s incorrect.
ALL their games will be “free to play” mobile.
ALL their games will have skins/pay-to-win and so on and so forth.
And neither is really going to be Cannon.
Alright, i see you guys don’t understand PR and branding. So i’ll do a small lesson. When they made Diablo 4 mobile, it was not called diablo 4 it was called Diablo Immortal. They had no plans to make a DIABLO 4 at all, until the fans made an uproar. When they make WARIII they won’t call it WARIII or WAR4 they will call it with a cool brand name War Craft Immortal, or Warcraft Infinity, or what ever else. This new brand of Warcraft will have all the resources allocated to the previous WARCRAFT reforged, and it will be free to play and mobile. When this is announced, and the above guy, who is likely a Blizzard supporter, if not an employee of blizzard, will say nothing. I will copy and paste this, and post it to reddit as AGED like Milk. That’s all. I hope instead, we get WARIII update or WARIII something, and I hope to be laughed at for the rest of my life. That would be a worthy sacrifice if that means i get to play WARIII again. Unfortunately, it will go exactly as I said. That’s my explanation of PR and Rebranding.
Lesson learned^^
