Using Wine battle.net starts but then Warcraft III can't start

I use wine in Linux and battle net app works perfectly, have installed Warcreaft 3 reforged and all is ok with the install. When hitting the play button nothing happens apart from my CPU working hard for a while and then reverts back to battle…net window while showing “Game is running” then that dissapears and allows me to hit the PLAY button again that does the same loop.

Tried many fixes found on forums but it looks like i can’t get it right.

Any help or pointers is appreciated…

Could be caused by the anti-cheat/integrity protection that is now being used. These often rely on very specific Windows OS behaviours to function, which logically will not be emulated perfectly on Linux.

I suggest reporting this to the Wine developers. Given that Warcraft III Reforged is a popular game they may at least try to identify the cause.
