Try this for the Mac Launch Problem

Hey guys, we had this problem last year if anybody remembers.

If you’re like me and hates apple with a passion and only uses the thing because of some weird convenience, in my instance i was given this piece of utter greasy and bile drenched crap MacBook pro so it’s easy when I’m out of town. You may have put off doing the recent software update. I’m wayyy behind with mojave and lo’ and behold there’s a common glitch with Catalina where it gets stuck that I’m currently looking into on how to remedy. Taking longer than I’d hope

If any of you apple haters with a crab apple out there please download to the next update and keep us posted if that did the trick like it did for me last year

I don’t see a solution to anything in this thread

Well, to save you from re-reading, I’ll put it in a nutshell: update MacOS to the next version.

I have Mojave, so i need to update to Catalina, but Catalina has a common glitch where it gets stuck during the download.

Update to the next MacOS if you’re not currently on Sequoia.

This has worked for me before last year. Same issue. Blizzard didn’t do anything for over a month, check my post history.

the issue with the most recent update though is that it straight up deleted the war3 program for mac users. there’s nothing to run.

This isn’t my first rodeo, it doesn’t make sense but it works, welcome to IT.

If you don’t have Sequoia and you’re not updating to Catalina then it’s worth a try.

Does it work for ou on Sequoia 15.0.1 as it doesn’t for me?

There is nothing to work, nothing. The last patch has just deleted game for mac users, regardless of OS version and etc, from what I can guess is in every update:

  1. Delete old files
  2. Add new files

and in this update, step 2 was not done.

Sequoia is the most recent update so i doubt my solution will work, Summer.

Erfan, I know, it did this to us last year before, an update to the next mac os update worked like a charm for me. Those who were on the latest version of mac OS in 2022(this is when it happened my old boomer brain kept saying last year but it was late 2022) did not get the issue fixed via blizzard for over a month, so you guys might want to think about trying out my solution to the problem if you’re able to.

Check my post history if you want. I’m not lying.

so what you’re telling us is that updating your OS will make the game program materialize out of thin air?

I don’t think you’re understanding the replies, Runemourn.

This time around, according to reports of Mac users, the game’s exes are missing from the installation. If that’s the cases, no operating system version is going to fix that.

What’s specifically going on now hasn’t happened in the past. Yes, there’s been disruptions in service over time, but that doesn’t mean the causes have been the same.

You’ve even had a reply in another thread, which you acknowledged, that your solution didn’t work. So there’s no need to be spamming it in multiple threads.

upgraded to Sequoia and did not fix the problem. GG

That’s funny, because late 2022 when this was happening my exe files weren’t there either. It also isn’t “magic” it’s just tech BS, apple has so many pain in the rear security features the new patch could have easily triggered out dated OS security protocols to remove the files due to them simply being out dated and not recognizing something modern, and figuring blizz did have a shred of competence with this patch they’d have made sure the latest software for both apple and pc were gucci

Btw, i didn’t see anybody respond to me before i made this post in multiple forums. Who was it?

You are remembering wrong, because it is magic if Apple somehow provided you with a game company’s proprietary files in an OS update.

I have to sift through your spam. I’ll find it later today when I’m on a desktop.

You’re right, i did misremember, that I uninstalled and reinstalled the client before the software update last time so that may be a factor here as well, and that is a big ask.

Now that the thread is back on track, I can work with it.

Thus now, my response to this is,

That’s fair. If you’ve remembered that it wasn’t the upgrade that fixed missing Blizzard game files last year, then the OS upgrade suggestion is not going to work for everyone.

As to your spam rebuttal (that’s been deleted), five copy and pastes in just over a quarter of a day is treading close to spam territory. The one OP you made would have sufficed. It’s front and center on a slow moving forum. Copy and pasting it across multiple other people’s threads wasn’t needed.

It was a heat in the moment thing and I was trying to help and then you come about hours later after it was all said and done, not as if I went overboard with it after the initial reposts.

Plus you’ve got a condescending air about the way you type. You never asked me any questions or anything you just went full throttle hall monitor. Maybe somebody who had experience with this first hand, you should give them the benefit of the doubt instead of getting a light buzz from a power trip. But who am I kidding? That’s your compensation through and through.

Since you deleted the majority of the conversation I’m guessing you realized how to use ad hom correctly. Like i said earlier, here to help and dish out what’s been dished out to me.

Go ahead and delete the majority of this post again. You deserve the tip, champ.

No hard feelings, I’ve spoken and said my piece. Catch ya next time when this glitch inevitably happens again.

Just to clear the air, I didn’t mean for that first reply to be condescending. So apologies if it came across that way. I don’t have any beefs with you or anything like that, so I just meant for it to be a neutral response.

That wasn’t me. The only people that can do that are Bliz employees. At some point, a Bliz moderator came across it, deemed it inappropriate and removed it.

Which is fine within reason. You went full scorched earth retaliation against an air of condescension. A bit disproportionate, which likely caught the mod’s eye.

But, same here. No hard feelings.

Fair enough, although me being facetious wasn’t ”full scorched earth." Also quite odd the timing it happened as well as your edits.

No big deal though water under the bridge. Take care.

I have two apple computers and my games were perfect, now it will run on the only computer with windows but in my Mac it just won’t launch. I have reported the problem to Blizzard But they don’t seem to care.
