This is how you should respond to us Blizzard

In regards to anger, as a person who went from having a hair trigger temper to being a very patient person, I can tell you you’re wrong. Anger is one of the more reactionary emotions requiring stimulus. It is true a person can force themselves to be angry, but this anger is short lived and far lesser than stimulated/provoked anger.

Just because a person doesn’t outwardly react to a provocation doesn’t mean they didn’t feel anger (or sadness, or joy etc). They could be in a position where acting on an emotion is inappropriate or ill-advised (such as a workplace). And, from experience, restraining one’s self isn’t always such an easy choice either. Emotions are quite influential on one’s decisions, Anger being one of the more potent.

So a person or group can “make” a person angry. The “choice” is less to feel the emotion than to act upon it.

Yes, they want to be a business by making as much and spending as little. The part where I disagree is the consumer being crapped on. If we’re talking about reforged, the game wasn’t priced as a full price game since they felt it unnecessary to change a lot. You want to say they should have been more up front about cutting the ingame cinematics, fair enough but I’m not going to say the price of the game isn’t worth the amount I paid because of some ingame cinematics. As for glitches, they’ll get fixed.

Just because I have money in my bank account that doesn’t mean I’m going to continue paying for a photoshop subscription I don’t use. They’re a business, of course they want to make money. This mindset generally translates to better projects if they spend their resources right.

I’m not with you on poor wages for a couple reasons. One being that rent in CA is ridiculous, taxes are ridiculous and this in general has led to massive homeless population in the state. Living anywhere near Irvine is expensive. In any case, I don’t fault the employees who left, they did what they had to and fortunately that’s what you should do if you have to. I don’t worry too much about that stuff though, I care only about the games that I get here at home. Reforged seems worth it for the value to me. I think calling it a shell of a game is a bit dishonest. You can claim false advertising perhaps but the true value of the game I don’t think is under $40. Most games don’t cost exactly $60 but they’re still charged at that price. Some cost more, some cost less. This was a remaster and it was less than a brand new game.

The 0.5 on Metacritic says others disagree. But that’s fine, we have different subjective opinions on what we think is/isn’t being crapped on. The price is again something Blizzard should be criticised for. Looking at AOE2 DE, $10 cheaper, many more features, no cut features, and if you owned the original you get a discount AND you get to play both versions, one didn’t replace the other. But that’s another discussion.

Imo though, this was meant to be reforged, it was marketed as so, it wasn’t it’s basically just upgraded graphics, should be the same price as SC Remastered.

Better projects? You call this a better project? You call BFA a better project? I don’t think I’m ever going to change your mind, but if your community for years talks about your decline in quality, I don’t think money is going into “better projects”. Especially when it’s clear everything is being cut for your two flagship games (OW and WOW) and yet you continue to squander the quality of those as well.

Multi billion dollar company posts record profits, pays FAR BELOW industry average, has employees living out of their car. Not a low skilled Walmart job, programmers. “I’m not with you on poor wages” LOL

They’ve lost so much top tier talent because of their cost cutting spreadsheet nonsense, and yet continue to talk about record profits. This isn’t smart thinking, future proofing, this is capitalism at it’s worse. Make as much money for the shareholders asap, say f it to everyone else and then move on when the well is empty.

It’s literally a game with new graphics and like 5 changed (for the worse missions) Almost everything about WC3 Reforged is worse than classic. Worse menus, worse custom games, cut content you originally paid for. It’s a shell of a game. Pure and simple.

This isn’t a game though, it’s a reforging (or people call now remastered when it suits their narrative) and it’s still more expensive than other remasters that have come out and again, is of far less quality and polish.

A couple of things. A person can chose to deliberately provoke you. Asking someone to not get angry at that is absurd. Anger is an emotional response. You can’t help emotions, only what you do with them

Secondly, they did lie. Their main websites, shops and all the main places that majority of the hardcore gamers, all casuals and laymen frequent (i.e. their advertisments) continued to advertise false information even after they said they announced they won’t do it, which by the way was announced at a platform that very small portion of truly hardcore blizz fans frequent. And even they were confused as ads speak louder.

The reaction of the crowd says it all. Pokemon fans were angry with gamefreak but they can’t and did not claim they were misinformed. Blizz had full access to major platforms but chose to not utilise them or at the very least, change their own advertisment.

Oh, and finally, yes, they need to apologise because they keep wanting to be treated as humans and keep making promises and betraying as one so expecting an apology is natural. Even a company has a face. “Face of a company”. Look up that term. If they were indeed a faceless robot company then they wouldn’t be making these mistakes in the first place. False advertisments and leading by the nose are classless human acts that any decent society with morales and values expects an apology for. Blizzard is a company situated in such a society. It has nothing to do with insecurity. It is a natural expectation.

The real insecure one here is you, who isn’t even addressed to, nor are you related to the matter in any shape or form and yet you feel compelled to jump in between and take the bullet for a company that you yourself said is faceless. As if they are your family or you have some stock share or something.

Oh, and these weren’t “couple of things” either. I wanted to point that out. Me? I was just copying you edgelord.

I think the point is: Apologizing is great when it works, but it accomplishes little when everyone already assumes the worst about you.

Just look at how the forums reacted here: Immediately saying the apology “backfired” and spewing yet more vitriol. You’d think they’d have been better off saying nothing at all.

What apology? Surely you don’t mean the blue post that didn’t apologise and blamed us for having unfair expectations instead of their lying right?

What I mean by not lying is that they’re using loopholes cover what they are advertising. Basically as said in the IGN footnote about false advertisement - these cases existed for Gearbox and Sega before this, and the case was thrown out.

As for lying on the website, WIP footage is not taken into account for final product and what they have bullet pointed is actually stuff in the game, just not in the way people expect it in the context of seeing other things advertised.

It is incredibly misleading but it is not really lying if we consider that the cutscenes WERE reforged; in that they were redone to look exactly like the originals but with new models. They updated the UI- there are new icons and customizable hotkeys. They have updated campaign- this is not a lie either.

So what they bullet point is incredibly misleading, and it seems like lying when in the context of 2018 material still on the site; but its not gonna amount to anything because it is what it is, not what it should be.

The actual Game is definitely a downgrade, but I dont know why people want new Voice Lines and a new Lore. Whats wrong with the actual Voice and Story? The WC3 Story is one of the best and to make it fit with WoW can never make it better. Some Languages got new Voices and the new ones are far worse than the old. Do you realy want the actual Voice Lines replaced by bad Voice acting?

The best response from us, should be never ever again spend a single penny there.

Ignore their public relations jibberish. The more we ignore them, and stop donating, the faster they will start writing nice, you will see.

Why you think they stopped showing the current WoW population, marketing move, to still do the less possible, but still earning, hiding their attitude. Players i beg you, stop being naive, no more $$ for them.

First they should apologise and then we’ll see if it backfires or not.

Except the custscenes themselves(camera angles and movement) weren’t reforged only the models.
So, they lied.

“You choose to be angry”?.. Do you even know how emotions work? Or you think Blizzard will give you something for your shilling?

So what happens if we don’t try to shake the tree loose and go buy some other game company’s work instead?

  • You don’t have to get upset and dump on community managers.
  • The community managers don’t have to have “get shat on” as part of their job description.
  • You can broaden your horizons
  • You can not look like a tool for being such a spiteful consumer of product while simultaneously being loyal af.
  • Maybe… just maybe… they’ll start having CMs again who can talk to us because we don’t treat them like customer service reps because they can’t give us the ammunition to riot.

WC3 Reforged was a weird idea and it was extremely suspicious from the start. It smells very strongly like a prescription drug company is trying to change the formula by just enough to let them keep their patent… or some other kind of legal shenanigan, but if it stinks of stupid to you, don’t buy it. Don’t pre-order it. It’s WC3 with new graphics.

If you’re easily-riled and you pre-ordered something, the resulting animosity is totally on you.

They absolutely, technically, objectively lied. I am not mad or angry as I am not one of the players that “live” Warcraft universe, but I do play the games and have fond memories of them. But, they did lie. They still do. You can check features on the site and you’ll see that they are false. Like, it’s not even about weasel words and vague promises, it’s literally lying about a very specific, rigid trait of a product. It’s not like they said “awesome graphics” and then they turned out not so awesome and then we argue here about what “awesome” means to different people and so on. This isn’t it, chief, as young would say.

Also, it’s quite ironic you are so haughty about it all with your “simple economics” when you know very well that they aren’t so simple, ESPECIALLY SO in case of Blizzard and similar companies.
I’ll even give you an example. Final Fantasy XIV. It came out in a BETTER state than Reforged, a lot better, actually. Many still argue they even liked it. So, in fact, SE didn’t have to apologize or do anything about it. But, you know what they did? They took like a YEAR to overhaul the entire AAA MMORPG title for no additional fee, as a sign of taking full responsibility for the product THEY released. The result? One of the best MMORPG’s ever and by some, better than WoW or EVE, for example.

Yes, they should apologize for lying, literal lying. They should take financial losses and take it upon themselves to make it up to their customers. Regardless of whether those customers are even angry or not. Even if every customer is fine with the game, they should do it because the game is abysmal.

You don’t even know what responsibility means. It doesn’t matter whether Brack or whoever was even involved in the game at all. It doesn’t matter what they even think. When something is disastrous under your command, the LEAST you have to do is, besides apologizing profusely, is to step down. Of course, you aren’t legally required to, which seems to be your only concern, you robot without capability to read nuance or basic relations.

“hurr durr vote with your wallet, free market hurr durr” - that’s beside the freaking point, you blizzbot. Your whole attitude is childish, yet you have the nerve to present it as mature and reasonable and turn it upside down, just because the OP’s english isn’t the best or because he’s angry. “No one makes you angry” is a nonsensical, parroted line in this particular instance and you know it. It’s like saying “all things die” at some inappropriate moment. It’s meaningless and pretentiously philosophical for the specific situation you tried to apply it to. But, you know all that, don’t you, bot?

No, your mishmash of words won’t help you. “react emotionally” is some middle ground you try to insert now.
You don’t chose whether an emotion gets created by a stimulus, which was the point, not what your REACTION to that emotion might be. So, yes, I can get angry and not hit a person that made me angry, but I can’t DECIDE to get angry or not.
And that’s a psychological fact, you armchair psychologist bot.

You talk about cut-scene and the story. Who likes the old story, they have the opportunity to run the old company with new graphics. Reforged was based on this: if you want an old company, you can play it with new graphics, because reform is compatible with old cards, if you want a new vision, play a reform company. Reforge was not presented as a remaster, but as a revised version with the ability to run old companies with new graphics.

As a result, we have been deceived, and people are rightfully unhappy. The blizzard justifies that the people themselves wanted it. Wanted what? What was originally supposed to be? Do people want to reduce content? Show me these people who are against the expansion and development of the game. There are no such people, I have long been on the forum and have not seen these mythical people.

exactly man, you can’t decide to get angry or not, only wether you’re gonna smash ur head on the table or not, but maybe the other guy has superpowers who knows

But they were.

You see, reforge is their definition. So whatever they change or keep becomes the definition of ‘reforge’.

Think of bringing this point up in court with lawyers. How would anyone prove its a lie? WIP material changing during development is what works in Blizzards favour, because of the previous Colonial Marines lawsuit that got dismissed for the same reasons. And by not calling this a remaster or remake, they avoid being held to any one standard.

And misinformation that is likely to sway people into buying your products is called false advertisement. Which is illegal. In other news, the sky is blue and the grass is green.

What a nice non-sequitur, with bonus lack of self-awareness too!
Accepting corporate bullcrap and telling off those who refuse to do so signifies either being too attached to the brand name, quality be damned or a “world weary cynic” mindset, neither of which is a mark of adulthood, but rather a teenager, at least mentally. So I would advise you to refrain from going with this kind of rhetoric in the future… but then, you’re not going to listen to me anyway.

Well, you know, see above. When the features you heavily advertised are getting axed, the least you can do is inform everyone about it.
And stop advertising them while we’re at it.

WOW this “response” sounds so good. actually if blizzard would have made something similar official i would have fallen in love with them again because it sounds so friendly and great. makes me feel like i’m a valued customer.

sad that their real response makes me feel like i’m meaningless and they don’t care :frowning:
