Big supporter of WC3 here for over 2 decades. Really disappointed that the support for Mac across all Blizzard products (D4?) has deteriorated over the years.
That being said, I’m hopeful that the 30th anniversary effort results in some increased awareness as to the Mac player base that exists and that there still is an incentive for Microsoft/Blizzard to now support this dedicated and meaningful group of players.
Just hoping in I guess, I made all my friends buy the game for the 2.0 update so we can all play together, they all did, turns out my Mac can’t run it…lmao.
I had to make it work using Parallels but I’m not paying that to only play WC3.
It would, at least for me, make it bearable if we had the game on GeForce Now at least, I use that to play every other game, pretty much all Battle.net games are there but not this. Guess making it difficult is the way to go…
‘Hello! Looks like you’re enjoying the discussion, but you haven’t signed up for an account yet.’ — just wanted to post to say that: 1) I’m NOT enjoying the discussion lol, 2) cause I have the same problem on my Mac (T_T). When will this get fixed…
Did a bit a digging on what is publicly available for those similarly technically minded. This ticket is marked SSE, probably server-sent event error. It is a denial of all Mac origin requests on both the battle.net and SPS APIs (public info here). I guess this means a malformed object in the packet… basically the authentication system for all Mac installs is broken, probably client side.
The VPN error suggests a region mismatch so must be a bit of a nightmare in the loop.
Perhaps some very basic tests in the future before pushing to prod please?
